Phantasy Star Universe is coming in 3 weeks. I loved the game in its Diablo-type form and now that they are trying to step up to an mmorpg, I'm pretty excited.

If it is more fun than this (it will be while it is new to me, but even after a few months,) I am outta here. I love my guild and some of you, but I don't like rewarding mediocrity.

We all know a company cant get rich off of the "hardcore" gamer. Now most people on this site are/or lean twords "hardcore". SoE hasnt given enough to the die hard raiders as far as content, KoS was a joke raid wise. I mean with a roster of maybe 30 it doesnt take long before u have your guild instance equiped, and there are not enough contested. That is not what pads SoEs bank accounts, its the casual/family style player that hops on for an hour or two at night and tools around a bit. Its hard for SoE to please both enough raid content and gear itemization for the die hards, and enough fluff and gear itemization for the casuals. Its a fine line that will always have one side complaining, but i find that SoEs bread and butter is in the casual side, and they tend to win. I just hope this expansion can fill a raid week comfortably without sitting around waiting on lockouts to come up. I fear yet again they will have more bread than meat this expansion.

That being said, how would a "family type player" know much about contested raid mobs?

You should either get a new informant or buy a fucking clue. You can read in a lot of places on the SoE forums (if people even go there anymore) that EoF zones weren't even being tested. From reading you'd see that all that was being tested were existing zones in respect to the new combat changes. Next time you wanna start a shit storm, you should probably do your research.

Haha this is awesome news. I played phantasy star online on the Dreamcast way too much. I still remember making plans to farm final boss at a certain "Beat time" with people and waking up for it. Oh, and how weapons dropped when you died. I loved my spread needle/heavens punisher
