Guess the plat farmers are going to have to get other summer jobs. This will definitely put a dent in the market. People won't buy plat if worried about a perma ban actually being enforced.

A large undercover operation was done by SoE on Perma, which resulted in buying and selling plat to prove their case and eliminate situations where innocent people got banned for buying off the broker and such.

I hope they do a sting operation like this on all servers.

The interesting aspect is that now you know who the assholes were in your midst. Maybe they can even be stereotyped and profiled by the legit players. Just a thought.

Apparently, SoE came down on Perma with an iron hammer in a full force CS sting after some plat spammers sent tells with false claims that it was safe to buy their plat, since they got it from SoE:

Just a suggestion to farmers: you may not want to use that tactic in the future.

Again, kudos, big thumbs up to SoE for all this, this improves the game for us all. Please don't stop on Perma, please take the same crew and sweep the other servers now.

So I hate to be a pessimist but haven't we seen this a billion time in the war on drugs? It's like a big drug bust. A couple of peons go to jail and a bunch of revenue for the bad guys is lost. It makes a dent but it's hardly noticeable. But really this effects no one really, with the exception of some folks on Permafrost. All it is, is a big show of power to give us a message nothing more. Another example would be when they crack down on illegal downloading at a college or something and tons of busted at once then all goes quiet again and people continue to click the [Download] button and listen to their free music.

if you happen to have buy some stuff because a farmer had /duelbet on autodecline and ended buying it anyway will that put you on SOE shitlist? i know i have twinked an alt lately and had to buy 1 master for every 3 /duelbet i won.
