Because, yes, men invent things in total a vacuum and never need the patronage or support of anyone! And men always invent things from scratch; they never, ever make small-but-crucial improvements on existing design. They never expand upon the decades or centuries of research and theory provided by others who remain largely uncredited or forgotten. /cough
If you're going to question the intelligence of women based on a lack of true invention credited to women, you have to also ask if perhaps that gap comes from a social background where underpriveleged people in general haven't had the resources or educational background that would enable their equal participation in contributing to invention.
There is no support for sexism like this when women (and minorities and poor people), given equal opportunities, can begin to contribute equally. If women were inherently inferior, you wouldn't see an increase in the percentage of patent filings coming from women as they take advantage of opportunities their foremothers never had.
And of course women inventors build on men's inventions, but all invention works this way. Women shouldn't have to reinvent everything in a vacuum (which men never had to do) just to prove they are "equally" capable of invention.

Is there a large population of the Gamming community gay playing with their boyfriends?
Are there a large part of the eq players trying to get in touch with their feminine side?
Maybe trying to talk to some straight guy in to letting them get on their knees before the raid?
Really I don’t get it, I know I would feel uncomfortable running around pretending I was chick.

Eq2 is first major MMO that I can say I play hardcore. ( Played Phantasy Star Online for a bit ) I loved Eq1 ( played a roomates toon sometimes ) but I was in college during it's hey day and quite frankly, there were a lot better thinks to do at Umass than sit around a pc all day. Now, I believe I am in the majority when I say "I have rolled a few toons in this game." For me, some are male, some are female. My toon's sex selection was mainly dependant on the class. For example: My Bezerker, Palidin, and Illusionist are male, while my Troubadour, Mystic and Assassin are female. When I think of inspirational song, it's a womans voice I hear. When I think of a healing touch, it's a womans hands I'd like to feel. When I think of the deadliest of deadly, to me, nothing is a match to a woman's scorn. I didn't know until I really started to get into this game on how much of a community MMO's can develop into. Almost their own culture if you will. Perhaps if I had know that the same homophobic and insecure element of our own society would make their way into this one, perhaps I would have rolled differently.. /ponders .. Um.. no, I wouldn't have. S.O.E stands for Sony Online ENTERTAINMENT. Forgive me if I'm looking forward to my new female Wood Elf Monk Milkshake on Kithicor to getting lvl 20 so I can watch her do the Silent Fist Kata. Sorry if I find a female toon more entertaining wearing a Gi than I do a male one. I really don't see what the big deal is. I can understand if I was a socially inept person who's only exposure and interaction with the opposite sex came either from an MMO, or the opposite side of a web cam, how this issue could bother you.. err them.. But honestly.. I really don't see what the big deal is. I mean what happened to you the first time ( if you ever played) beat Metroid for the NES. When Samus took the helmet at the end and you saw the the toon you were playing the whole time was really a woman.. what happened. Did that upset you? Did you run to the playground, climb the jungle gym and proceed to beat you hands on your chest? Or maybe you ran for you mommy's Sears catalouge and borrowed the undies section to make sure you still "Had it!" Or better yet, did ya stop playing completely when you found out that the more you beat the game, the more armor she took off?! Or Tomb Radier for that matter?! Damn.. a chick running around with 4 big guns, ( 2 of them located on her chest) Daisy Dukes and some DSL's rolling on the ground, turning flips and kicking ass. Damn you gotta be gay to enjoy something like that?! Do I think it's cool for guys to pretend to be woman while playing female toons.... I really don't care. I don't play this game to meet women. Last time I checked there was a roleplaying option to this game so let people do what the hell they want to. They DO pay for this service right?! I would say 99% of my server where my 2 lvl 70's are know I'm a male playing a female toon. Nienna 70 troub/ Zarena 70 assassin both on the Bazaar. ( Yes I rolled them myself! ) Main reasons why is that: 1. I have the vent info of most major guilds on the server and 2. I don't hide it in lvl chat nor to am I ashamed of it. I am quite secure in who I am and my own sexuality not to need to make some huge Barbarian Guardian to prove how much of a man I am. From the tone of your first post it seems to me that you have some sexual and or social issues you need to work out. Maybe a little confusion to deal with. You seem to go straight for the gay card. Something on your mind? Perhaps airing your feelings like this will help you out. I hope so. Sounds like a classic case of self loathing to me.. or perhaps jealously?! It's ok man.. you know you wanna make that make that female fae toon.. it's ok. / mock concern

Celer answers the anatomical inaccuracies in your (Trumak's) post quite adequately. My post was meant to address the behavioral aspects of "male" and "female," which could have been more clearly stated. But you get there within three sentences anyways.
You still neglect to point out how having a penis or having a vagina predisposes one to any exclusive set of behaviors. There are behaviors "considered" abnormal, but on a social/cultural level which leads to arbitrary classification. Where, scientifically, can these behaviors be proven abnormal -- as in, not within the range of behaviors normal for that entire gender. If your sample population comes only from one culture, you can't prove anything till you account for and eliminate cultural variation. Your biases, so far, are socially and culturally determined and are invalid till you can support them with peer-reviewed science.
I'll state again that I do, when it comes to behavior, believe biological differences between men and women exist (mostly having to do with tendencies at a population level). But the "obvious" differences that people cite are largely informed by culture and do not transition intact between cultural boundaries.
For instance, those of us coming from a culture set in a Western European background, tend to assume that concern with hair styling is inherently feminine. The Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania, however, consider concern with hair styling to fall into the domain of male warriors, the epitome of masculinity, and women are traditionally expected to keep their heads shaved. In Maasai culture, women concerned with hair styling are breaking gender norms and men who style each other's hair are conforming.
So without arbitrary cultural expectations, what separates males and females? (Let the requisite crass comments ensue.)

The asian style does not belong in EQII, the SOGA team should never have been given the rights to even touch this game. There are plenty of anime games out there for people to play, but they arent satisfied until EQII is tainted by this inferior style.
The art dev, Lotus, must be stopped, he is destroying the artistic quality of EQII by using hentai and manga as his inspirational sources. He is not talented, they need a new artist.

Explain, douche.
EDIT: FYI, the whole thing about women inventing something was just me playing devils advocate. I think women are great regardless of what they have or have not contributed to civilization.

There was a girl that used to get on our UT clan servers and run around announcing to everyone she killed she was a chick and did the "haha you got beat by a girl" bullcrap. I liked hunting her.
My first guild was named as a joke on the Terry Pratchett book about a bunch of women dressing up as men to join the army. Only, the joke was that we had more men playing female toons. We had one other real female in the guild that was a headcase & persistantly in heat. "Helpless horny basketcase" sums it up. Every male character that would log in, she wanted to have as a boyfriend, and would drape herself all over. The guys pretty much switched over to their female toons full time, instead of swapping back and forth between male toons.
The one guy developed a story about sharing an account with his "sister" - oh, sorry, I have to go, my sister really wants to play - he'd relog to his female swash and play the rest of the night in peace. If she sniffed testostrone, she was all over it, but as long as the estrogen was around, she couldn't be bothered. LOL He was paranoid she'd find out who he was, it was great.
