I would never play a girl toon, I don't even like logging on one. It feels like wearing panties to me.

as for those that get upset or bent over dudes playing females toons, they most likely hit on one and found out later it was a guy ..girls can spot the maginas.. lol i think its funny that most guys usually can't.

Also, i think you'd be surprised at how many females play and not because there hubby's/byfriends play, this may come as a shock to some, but OMG females are gamers too! Yes I've been offered free stuff, and no not cause i offered hot cyber....i am a bit of a flirt thou so maybe thats why

Too bad that definition doesn't work out to well in reality. A Penis and Clitoris are made from the same tissue. When in a certain cycle in the womb there is a hormone wash and if that gets fucked up and you have an XY fetus getting washed with too many female hormones that XY kid could end up with a clitoris and boobs. Hell they could end up with a clit and a penis. Really theres no limit to what you can end up with. Theres a small percent of the population that's anatomically opposite of their chromosomal gender. So your definition doesn't work too well there either. A previous poster said it best, that people wand Sex and Gender to be black and white but in reality it's not even close. We can't even define it ourselves.

I would go so far as to tell you to leave academia now as you don't seem to have the open mind and intellect that I believe one should have to be a part of it. Your statements are broad sweeping generalizations that have no real substance or thought to them. I hate to say this but there is not just Male and Female in this world. There is a whole spectrum of gender and you can't define it by the two extremes. In short you can't just say boys have a penis and girls have a vagina and leave it at that.

I know of many people on EQ2 that have female characters and are male... My question to them? 'Why do you play a female character if you are male..?' Their reply? 'If I have to stare at a character's ass all day it may as well give a good view.' Hmm.. Interesting.

I myself am a female and find it hard to play a male toon. For me it just seems too odd.

my first mmorpg was eq1, i played it with a male char, all twinks were male too, i went on to daoc, played a male char, i went to shadowbane, first a male char too, then i have no clue why i started a female char and since then i have pretty much only played female chars.
in eq2 my first two lvl 70 chars are female (one is a halfling, the other runs around with halfling illusion, omg what a fetish) and the third one is male (my main since 2 weeks), sadly though i am not gay, would love to be though as it would actually let me find women just beautiful for what they are and not always mix it up with sexual tension.

when the topic of rl gender comes up i never leave anyone time to think i am female, i right out tell them that i am not, i've had multiple people hitting on me and i instantly told them and didn't let em get into anything, funny enough there were some people who didn't care and still kept on flirting (omg how weird is that, i love it), still i was definitely more flirting with female characters all through my eq2 time, and yes they were female, ts evidence... but maybe that's just because my voice is so damn sexy (lol...)

i am obviously weird, the world is weird and hell i am so glad it is.

I think if you are a guy you should play a male toon. End of story.
