Just curious, is your disliking for the current master droprate and master 2 system to do with casual players getting items that are fabled, is it casuals getting items that are able to be sold for a lot of money, or is it casuals getting items that are the best avalible?

1 of these I would consider insignificant, the other two I agree need to be looked at.

1. Casual players do not need fabled. Legendary and Adept 3 was and remains excellent quality to clear all heroic and starter raid content. There is nothing disgraceful about an honest player with all Adept 3's.

2. Casual players should not have equal acquisition of the best of anything, to that of dedicated players who spend time honing superior skills and smarter organization. If reward is not commensurate with those, people will be deterred from setting goals and get frustrated with the game, because they will have no control over how those goals can be met. People generally want to choose their fates. They come to this game to escape the chaos of the real world. RNG may diversify the game on a small scale, but on a large scale it fucks everything up.

3. When a fucking idiot kills a solo mob and loots Ice Nova (Master I), I am a slave to that pathetic son of a bitch until I give him everything he wants for that master. It doesn't matter what my skill is, it doesn't matter if my playstyle is godlike, it doesn't matter what alliances I've formed or raids I might lead, and it doesn't matter if my face is pressed between Queen Antonia Bayle's thighs. The game handed the best master in the game to that piece of shit for a song and I got dicked.

They can go fuck themselves. The fact is though, spells have no legendary upgrade. We go Apprentice II(Common), to Apprentice IV(Handcrafted), to Adept I(Treasured), to Adept III(Mastercrafted), to Master I(Fabled). The logic of progression would tell us that we need a Legendary step in between there, since with Armor and Weapons it exists, as they go, No-Tag, Handcrafted, Treasured, Mastercrafted, Legendary, Fabled for progression. Abilities should follow the same pursuit. Plus, get this no more easy to get fabled items for transmuting, making fabled transmuted items actually rare and more worthy of the fabled tag.

I'm not sure why suddenly we need a legendary for the scheme, but suppose we play Devil's Advocate with this...

"Master III" nomenclature is tacky, makes it sound like an out-of-control arms race. Leave "Master I" as the fabled raid drop, with the same potency they have today. Make them drop from raids just as often as they do now, but only raids.

Rename mastercrafted Adept III's to Adept II for continuity in the naming scheme. No reason to leave that gap in there like we're scared of the number 13 or some shit.

And let Adept III's be the legendary shit that drops on heroic nameds.

Then it's easy after all:

Apprentice I: Freebie
Apprentice II: Cheaply purchased
Apprentice III, IV: Common crafted
Adept I: Treasured drop
Adept II: Mastercrafted
Adept III: Legendary (heroic named drop)
Master I: Fabled (raid named drop)

Because we had Legendary before, when we didn't have Mastercrafted before KoS. Gear progressed without Mastercrafted, they decided to add Mastercrafted with KoS, they just didn't feel like adjusting abilities to match. Why shouldn't abilities be adjusted to match the same progression as gear anyway?

What they could also do is get rid of Apprentice 4's and make Apprentice 3's a do-or-die crafting product just like Adept 3's are now.
