Ok, I'm not so sure that SoE would want to partner with EQ2Flames to do an event.

I'm ok with that, I actually understand, even though I kind of feel like that hooker in "Gone with the Wind" who was turned down when trying to make a donation to the Confederate Soldier's charity.

But I do think it is important that SoE co-sponsor an event or two with various community interests. SoE partnering with various segments of the fan base would reduce the "us vs. them" mentality that we, as the "other", non-politically correct subscribers often feel in this game.

And including EQ2Flames users on some level, even if they were called something else, like "Hardcore Raiders", would promote one of the original purposes of this site, which is to bring SoE closer to its fan base by helping them see us eye to eye and as subscribers who are just as important as official forum users.

I also wonder if SoE would be interested if a "legit" site like TTH could do this rather than EQ2Flames. Then, TTH or whoever could invite us to participate, even if by a different name than EQ2Flames.

Perhaps some sort of "Battle of the Fan Sites" could be arranged, with all of the biggest loudmouths from the various factions of the EQ2 community allowed to participate.

Or, we could call this community the "Hard Core Raiding Community" rather than EQ2Flames for the purpose of whatever event was decided on. I'm more interested in promoting the interests of the hard core raiding community than my personal agenda, or the interests of this site, anyway.

In my case, I just thought it would be cool to pitch my part in this as "dunk the deaf guy" so I could insult people in mime.

I just think it would be extremely cool to have a competitive event of some type that could pit the Hardcore Raiding Community vs. SoE Devs vs. TTH vs. Allakhazams and others. Of course, I think the Hardcore Raiding community would emerge victorious, TTH would get WW2nds, and we could own other sites in any type of challenge, except perhaps in a "Power Crafting" match or similar.

There is no Battle of the Fan Sites because eq2flames.com has already won, and efforts to assert that would just end ugly.
