i have noticed one key part for keeping the plat sellers from spamming me this may just be BS but from what i have noticed if i stay out of public areas like QH or EFP i get spammed a whole lot less. using ano works also.

for weeks now i have been hearing about all these people getting spammed ect... and i guess i was just lucky or something but i have also been keeping mainly to the baubbleshire for tradeskills // mending // banking ect... and im only in QH for maybe a min or 2 buying a ticket to run somewhere else. today i was in QH for 15 to 30 min and i got like 5ish tells then they recieved my spam macro for a while.

there is no possible way to ban them now, the industry has grown largely and the companies would simply change IP's if sony banned the ip and just continue to do what they are doing now, it would be possible to ban the computers mac address but im sure they would figure out someway to change that or swap hardware around/reformat for new mac addys...

as far as the level comments, ive noticed that currently plat farmers have a wide range of characters spreading through 1-70, what surprises me most is that even with servers on the exchange where exchanging money for ingame crap is encouraged they still tend to spam other servers far worse.

I do think that banning tells from 1-20 (unless its a guildie or on friends list) is a verry good idea. Though i would make a system similar to how myspace has asking if you want to allow the character to send you a tell and once denied they would basicaly be /ignored, and if approved normal tells could continue.

Players can get to 10 fast as someone else pointed out. It will slow down the plat farmers and frankly I dont get tells from wee little rangers lower than about level 20. Up until then they are running the quests and all. ANd to be honest, if someones feelings get butt hurt cause I dont accept tells from level 10 or 15 and below... well, I probably wouldnt like them anyway!

Some people act like there is all this great scholarly discussion and dialogue and wonderful charity between the level 70's and the level 1's and that's such a foot-dragging pile of bullshit. Oh no, god forbid we sever that lifeline!

Getting to level 20 in under a day? That's a hell of a lot less efficient for the plat selling companies than getting to level 1 in 5 minutes, wouldn't you think? Or are we going to play as dumb and helpless here as Congress is on the issue of Amnesty?

The other day I was afk for a bit while I ran to the store, and I came back to some plat spam. The funny part is that the spammer actually responded to my afk message with what appeared to be an apology for "interrupting" me, but it was so garbled that it made no sense at all. I had a good chuckle
