Re: Expansion Ideas and Input from the EQ2Flames followers.
We should just merge EQ2 and EQ1 and get it over with.
Gray con aggro is THE WORST idea ever IMO. Every EQ2 quest seems to just be a runaround / time sink BS type. Rather not have to deal with every gray mob aggro'n me also.
Also very much like the idea of quest rewards that grow as you accomplish more and more. Although making the final reward only attainable by those who can kill all the contested content seems a little "elitist" to me. It would most likely exclude 95% of the playerbase also.
I'd also hazard to guess you'd see the same BS going down like there was in EQ1 where One guild would just perma camp a contested named just so only they could achieve the "full potential" of there epic weapon. I'm sure they'd also lobby for a dramatic particle effect that is only displayed when the item is fully evolved.
But I'm sure they wouldn't so /afk in the attack stance for hours on TS docks just to rub peoples noses in it so maybe it wouldn't be a problem.
If SoE did implement an idea like this in some form I'd love it though. I am pretty sure they will just stick to the previous formula of making everything previous to the expansion trivial and /or useless. Sells more subscriptions I spose.

Re: Expansion Ideas and Input from the EQ2Flames followers.
i thought i read by a dev..or grimwell or someone that the epic weapon will infact work with a tier system (with multiple quests involved, and as you do them you're weapon grows in power). Maybe im wrong but i coulda sworn i read that somwhere.

Re: Expansion Ideas and Input from the EQ2Flames followers.
I think the epic weapon will come in two versions, one for group quest, then after that, you do the raid part to get the next one.
yeah all the ops idea's suck balls
I just want to plea,,,,NO MORE VAMPIRES!
I am so sick of every 14 year old in this game screaming for vampires, being a vampire playing a vampire race, I went to the new city and what is there...A VAMPIRE CLUB?
enough with it! Vampires are savage undead beings that rip the heart of living beings to feed,,,,they dont hang out with living humanoids and sip beer telling old war stories.
FOR GOD SAKE,,,enough with the bad hollywood B movie ideas

Re: Expansion Ideas and Input from the EQ2Flames followers.
A few things I wouldn't mind seeing:
TONS of more contested mobs. Use some of the oldworld zones, like the avatars were done -- only 2 or 3 of these though, because the old zones would become cluttered with epics. I always thought this game had too few contested mobs.
Raids. Actual raids. Get the guy who made DMP to design the entire continent of raiding, and I will be happy. (Illucide?) A mob on the same design of Cheldrak / Clockwork would be good too, but much, much harder -- like Cheldrak was when it was first released.
A revisiting of the level 50 raids -- similiar to how it was done with the Purple Piper in Courts. Something curious would be to have an access quest progression starting with revamped T5 raid mobs -- would be nostalgic, for sure, but whether or not it's a good idea, I don't know.
A definite border on the low-level content to the high level content -- much like the original Kunark. Okay, fine, we're having a new race -- I'm not happy about that, and I'm definitely not happy about there being more low level zones. However, I think there are enough 30+ zones in the game; having realistic borders between where the hard shit really starts in the continent would be nice. I really, really don't think we need more content for the lowbies.
Access quests -- progression in EQ1 was a LOT more significant than it is in this game, and that is something I miss from that game (I realize different game, quiet please). If you had PoTime access, or VT access, you either were uber badass or had a bunch of time on your hands; VT was horrible and was not a show of skill, but PoTime access was a show of skill and caliber of raiding.
And above all,
Something to DO at level 80. I'm hoping that's raiding, but if they introduce a very engaging questline that is actually fun and rewarding to do at the end of it, then I would be very pleased. Since that's definitely not AA's, then I'm hoping they will add some quests that are more than just kill 10 of this and go visit this location.

Raise the lvl cap to 100 and make classes harder to play.

Re: Expansion Ideas and Input from the EQ2Flames followers.
given the number of expansions and adventure packs already, dof, kos, eof, splitpaw and so on, there's not a real need for more 1-70 content. I'd prefer to see one 1-20 zone and have everything else be tier 8 zones and focus on raid content.

Re: Expansion Ideas and Input from the EQ2Flames followers.
What I would hope in the new expansion:
- A buff on the old t7 zones by about 10 levels... problem then is KoS, so we leave KoS as it is maybe? So people can still level up to 70 there. EoF get's a 10 level increase boost because if it wouldn't you could end up in a pickup EH raid and kill Wuoshi.
- If zones would be buffed then still there is the equipement being bad in comparison with the new gear from RoK, so I'd say stat increase by about 10, health and power increase by 30-50(this is on Fabled items).
- Indeed, epic weapons really need to be EPIC; an attractive proc for all classes and not to be just a dps like Qeynos Kilij 700- 1000 Divine damage, nope could do with a reuse timer proc, stat increase proc, name it all, it can also be permanent effects, that would make it more epic. For tanks a taunt proc, or increase on certain hate abilities, for healers increased healing, for scouts more hit chance? More melee crit by like 5%, mages reuse timer and casting timer increase or that the weapon would deaggro by a lot, to save those wizzies and locks. There are tons of ideas about that.
Good stats on those weapons ofc, it will have to be epic if you introduce them as epic weapons.
- Content, need a lot of new content, bringing up the level cap wouldn't be enough. As there are new zones, a new race, a new newbie zone... we need a lot of new content because the old content wouldn't be that attractive anymore.
- Raid mechanics, a mob that doesn't just spawn adds or does a painful AoE all the time but a mob where you have to move stuff, like the Djinn Master, trigger certain events to get the mob done. The Raid mechanics need a new dimension.
A lot of ideas are possible, we'll see what will happen.

So your plan is... increasing the level cap by 10, then increasing old content by 10... with a net gain of zero? No actually net loss because you lost all your spell upgrades in the process, not to mention the eternity of grinding. If your goal is to preserve the comparable power of the content vs. the player, the most straightforward thing is to not raise the cap in the first place.
