Go for it. Guess what game I turn to when I get really bored and want to play a good game. I bet you'll never guess which game which has great mechanics and was a great game. Of course, it'd be a pretty sweet MMO, although I guess EVE is basically it but different, since it's not skill-based advancement, but rather just time-based advancement.

What do I want to see from RoK? Might sound stupid to a lot of you, but Big Damn Zones. The one thing Vanguard spoiled me on was going back to the day where zones were huge, dungeons were deep, all that jazz. There's something to be said for the amusement park ride where you go to a quest hub and then pick up thirty solo quests that lead you through Minotaur Land, Steam Geyser Land, etc... but I really enjoy having huge open spaces. This also opens the doorway for huge roaming contesteds. Sounds like this is what they're trying to do and I hope they accomplish it.
Huge dungeons -- something with group content, a decent sized raid area with a couple contesteds. Closest thing we've seen to that in EQ2 was Sol Eye, but that was still a pretty linear path with a couple branches, and the raid area was pretty meager. EQ2 has nailed the instance game, now let's add some of the contested dungeons back in and get the kind of zone where you'll have six groups grinding mobs and quests and a raid forming outside. Since they're just focusing on highest tier, I think it's possible to do this and maintain a healthy number of instances.
That drake Cyenadros or whatever the hell at the bottom of Sanctum was the beginning of a good idea too (though obviously not a "real" raid target): why isn't there a big badass raid monster lurking in a throne room or somewhere at the bottom of all of these zones? Sensibly placed of course so that it doesn't cause ridiculous lag or players grinding and getting trained, but something for the rest of us to watch while you 1337 dudes do your thing. Maybe with some zonewide dialogue from the raid mob to add to the flavor. I got a kick outta watching guilds on my server take pulls on contested mistmoore and I think a lot of other people do too.

I think you should have to work some to get to 70-80.. I myself maxed 70 out in i think like 10days...then after that AA's are easy.. i mentored down... killed all the named mobs in every zone... got 100AA's in a little under 2weeks i think... its not hard..so within a month i was maxed lvl and AA... so yeah i would say make it a little harder to lvl and FOR GOD sakes give me more AA like in EQ1...so i have something to do to pass the time.. Shit what do they have thier over 1k+....i mean i would be fine with like 500 aa lol... for now...
Also make content more dynamic.. I know none of us want to hear it but wow some of thier raids have some good Dynamics to it.. not all of it but a few zones have good dynamics.. make it so like when we fight a dragon we fight it... it flys away and comes back to kick our asses... Remem pris 1.... that was a good dragon fight..
Make Epics mean somethin.. not this o hey epic item...hmm but i really prefer item X over Epic.....fuck that.. i remember my paladin 2.0 in EQ1...god it owned... for awhile lol..
Make armor actually mean something.. not this pussy stat set pieces... shit.. give me a break...some of this armor i wouldnt wear for the life of me.. Make the actual hard dungeons.. have good loot.. Thats what EQ1 had going for it.. the loot ment something..Remember Quarms shield.. shit i used that forever andi know shamans always loved to go to time to get thier slow hammer.. i mean come on make some actual worth while items..
O and maybe be like ok we are going to take a year instead of 6months....and make a really kick ass expansion...instead of pumping something out just b/c its 6months..

easy travelling killed EQ1, and now you want the devs the kill what little traveling there is in EQ2 aswell? LOL
More gambeling? No thanks, they should increase the change percentage of winning the current lotto instead of it getting over 2k plat or something.
What we need is:
Better item progression
Better class armor (effects/stats, some that Ive seen = /barf)
If mobs drop class specific parts let them drop 1 normal fabled and 1 of the class drops each time.
Dont ever bring beastlord back (saw someone suggesting it)
More AA's (yes, I say MORE, and make all the lines usefull so most classes can actually choose)
Figure out a way to make sure raidforces wont always get the same drops.
Make herioc zones challenging without them taking 3 hours.
A lot of raidzones + contesteds
Fix broken stuff.
