Icon12 Expansion Ideas and Input from the EQ2Flames followers.

We are hopefully 6 months away from a new expansion and I had a thought of getting something started where idaes could be heard by a dev before it's too late.

Now I know there are many out there who would like to see all of the broken content fixed. I would too, and that has been hashed out and beat like a dead horse for 3 years. Lets keep this as an Idea thread for things in the game that would make it fresh and interesting. Add concerns that a Developer might take as constructive and possibly use to better our overall gaming experience. I would love to see this thread thrive on a positive note and not fall out to what is broken, rather to enhance our time while on line.

I’m sure there are many great ideas out there and I encourage you to join in and share them. Here are some of mine. They might not be right and they may not be the best for everyone, but if we actually give it a go, we might just see one of our ideas come to life right here on EQ2Flames.

Adding difficulty levels to the KOS raid zones so they don’t become obsolete. Like what is in Poets Palace easy, medium and difficult and each difficulty adds +2 to the levels of the mobs. So that new toons can still get updates for epic quests and those fun zones can still be done with out having to mentor 4 groups to con the mobs. Keep the gear the same, just make the KOS raid zones useable. I would hate to get to level 80 and gray out some fun raids.

Make gambling halls with each gigglegibber goblin have a different reward for hitting all 6 numbers, like a merchant to by fuels from for your house, a Broker, a mender, a banker, or even a special house with all those NPC’s in it and so on. This would also help level out the economy by making the cost of the tickets one gold. This way the coin doesn’t go back into the game.

Change the coin lotto that is currently in place to not give coin back to the winner but win a house. Make it a ship that’s docked in QH and East Freeport. Have all the NPC’s you need in it from a mender to a banker that can only be hailed and used by the winner (and sure his/her alts as well as long as they are set as CO-owners of the ship). Like having your own town on the boat. That way there is a killer reward, and coin is removed in the way of ticket sales.

Add teleporters to the home cities of QH and EF that cost 5 gold to use. That will port you to any zone you choose instantly. Pay not to have to wait at a spire or boat ride.

I would like to see every mob in the game aggro no matter what the level. My reason is if I walked by a mob that’s level 50 it should still hate me and want to kill me. Just because I’m level 70 doesn’t mean that level 10 rat wouldn’t attack me just because he can read and see I’m a higher level. It’s a dream but if were going through a zone, we should be attackable.

If they buff the levels of old KoS zones they would have to re-itemize the zones all over again, and an additional time for each difficulty level you suggested. I would much rather see them concentrate on all new raids for the expansion, I wouldn't mind seeing new raid zones placed in older zones like a new Palace of the Awakened type raid zone in Barren Sky or a raid placed deep within Soluseks Eye.

30 + Contested raids mobs of varying difficulty, all with different spawn timers.

Epic weapons that are truely epic.

Enough content to keep everyone happy.

Please stop asking for easier travel. Its already WAY too easy to move through this game. I wish there were at least access quests, instead of insta-port to expansions.

And the same reason that I don't try to solo a 75x4 is the same reason that a level 10 rat doesn't attack me. Its simple game mechanics. Aggroing mobs is a good idea, but lets be serious. If I was running through Antonica to get to KoS, and a fucking bandit hit me, I wouldn't think "at least this guy still hates me" I'd think "what a fucking lame mechanic" and I'd come here and bitch.

I think what we all want is this:
Working content, with enough raid/high level heroic (dynamic) to satisfy a weekly gaming habit, and some gear that has some fucking progression. I don't believe I'm alone in saying that 2 new races in 6 months, 2 new starting cities, and all that other shit is enough in that department.
Another thing I know we all want are the fucking Epics to be Epic. I want to ONLY kill things in Epic zones for my Epic. I don't want to camp nameds in SoS, and clear heroic lame dungeons, and then get the best weapon in the game.
That's all I can think of now, probly have more later.

An epic weapon that upgraded or was flagged for every boss mob you defeated. So that each tier of progression would improve the item in some way. So that what ever progressive quest to get it's reward system would go about like this.

Solo version of the quest - reward treasured item.
Heroic - mid way through the heroic you would receive a legendary reward. At that time your quest will shift to boss mob unlocks could continue to unlock an ability or 2 of the legendary item.
Raid tier 1 - Once you epic is completely flagged as a legendary weapon you return to the quest giver to get the Epic portion. Killing the first major instance boss finishes this quest and rewards you with your first fabled epic.
Raid tier 2 - is a return to the boss flagging you will have to get to upgrade your weapon . Scatter them out through 4-5 different instances. Maybe make them ordered or something to stretch out the farming and make it easy to obtain short and long term goals. There should be 2-3 upgrades to the weapon again this quest as you meet set numbers of bosses. The final version coming when you finally defeat the instance boss of the expansion.
Raid Tier 3 - Final tier. To obtain the fianl and completed version of the epic and unlock its finally ability you must basicly slay every contested mob in t8.

To add customization to these great epic id say as you gain new procs or upgrades allow the person a few choices as how they wish to upgrade it. So that the 3 differnt versions in the raid t2 could actually be 3-4 differnt combantions allowing for complete customization to play style ( I.E need more power regen add a proc for that, Need dps add dps,Need imuntiy to stun,I'm sure we all could toss countless combinations of procs at devs if they just ask.)

That the best idea I've ever heard for an eq2 epic. We have bounced the idea around in ventrillo a few times. Allows rewards at every tier of play and a defined progression system.

Tons of Contested like T5 days...
A Truly Epic Item - From the Epic quest... That should take a long ass time and be challenging.
Raid zones that you can't clear on first time in... (Kos FTL)
