If ya don't complain when the rule is stated, then ya need to shut the heck up. You did nothing wrong at all, I'm just guessing that it was all fine and dandy with the other monk til something dropped that he or she REALLY wanted. As a monk, I just assume that raids won't drop anything I could use unless I'm not there. ;)

I agree, I dont think you did anything wrong, since you stated it in raid chat and everyone knew. If the other monk had a problem when you stated the rule and said something, I'm sure the other guy would have simply said.... fuck you guys then, I'll stay on my monk and you can just take longer to kill shit. If ya look at it from his perspective, a fully fabled swashie has no reason at all to want to do a pickup labs run, other than to get loot for an alt.

Gonna have to agree. The rules were stated, the player that logged his Swashy in was doing so ONLY to help move the raid along.

I have done that myself on open raids, played a toon that the raid needed (70 Defiler) but with the understanding that I was rolling for my Shadowknight. As long as the person hosting the raid is aware, and the raid members are told ahead of time, there are no issues IMO.
