Default Loot rules/Etiquette

Hi All,

Last night I ran a late night labs raid. You know the usual collection of random classes that brings with it. We ended up going in with 4 healers and just three groups. The only scout we had was a 52 Troub brought along for mage buffs.

Imagine how slow the dps was going with this setup. We had two monks in raid and since it was so slow with little or no debuffs, one of them agreed to log his fully fabled swashy to help keep things moving but wanted to still roll loot on his monk.I agreed and posted the following statement (or similar) in /rsay (xxx being the player name)

OK - XXX PERSON IS GONNA PLAY HIS SWASHY TO HELP WITH DEBUFFS AND STUFF. HE WILL STILL ROLL AS A MONK AND NOT ROLL ANY SCOUT ITEMS

Nobody said anything and we continued on. Then the Twin Calamities (Brawler Item) dropped and the monk rolled. The guy playing his swashy out rolled him os we let him log his monk and loot the item. At thispoint all hell broke loose with the other monk. He kicked up saying that you can only loot on the player you are currentlyplaying unless noone else needs. I had announced the way it was gonna go and he didnt objetc then.

Have I done anything wrong? What is the standard etiquette when a situation like this occurs? If the guy had not played his swashy we would have been another 15 minutes getting to where we were.

Any comments are appreciated

You did right, that monk deserves a slap, he had his chance to complain and did not say anything.

What the raid leader says; goes. If someone doesn't like it they can find another raid.

The real question here is why the Swash has a monk alt.

They should turn brawlers into cushions, so they'd have an actual use on raids.

Benchwarmers, you know.

Yep - not seeing an issue here. It was stated which character he was rolling for and no one said they didn't like it. I'm a big fan of "speak now or you lose your right to bitch" -

As you told your raid of this and no-one objected, you can't be blamed for this monk going nuts over some lab-loot (omfg). Since there is no real standard but only common sense and nbg to decide over loot, I think you did it right. That monk was just being greedy and obviously didn't watch raidchat anyway.

The problem with pickup raids is that most people aren't used to raiding. That monk probably hadn't even seen what you wrote in raid chat. Who knows, he might have everyone's combat logs in the same chat window.
