The ones that most frequently get skipped/rejected are the rude or slanted ones. It's possible to ask a tough question without being offensive. The people who've figured that out tend to be the ones who get their difficult questions responded to. Here's some examples:
  • "Is such-and-such going to suck as bad as the last time you did it, or worse?" That's not a difficult question, that's an idiotic one. We've skipped over plenty of those in chats.
  • "Are you going to fire (person) for doing (some part of their job I didn't like)? If not, why not?!" Probably not, but even if we were, I'm fairly certain I couldn't tell you.
  • "What are the biggest issues you run into trying to balance high end raids?" That's a difficult question with a myriad of answers that we could talk about for an hour, and probably be pretty entertaining with it. But to a small number of people. Much more likely to get answered in person at a fan faire, rather than take up a whole session responding to just that question in a chat, because it needs that much time to do it justice.
  • "What was the thinking behind (thing)?" That's a question that's frequently difficult (read: hard to summarize in a short answer) and objective, and likely to get answered. The answer is likely complex, but they're always worth answering, especially in person.

edit: board sw eats GT and LT signs, replaced with parenths
I think that mostly everyone who would wanna participate would definitely be able to handle a few guidlines. Thanks for posting, I will eat my words now. With LFG and Niber moderating the questions I don't believe any of the crap would make it though.

The best part of this response was that I could hit the EQ2Flames tracker and find it. Amazing technology I must say.

Hey people:

After discussing it at length, Niber and I have decided to put off attempting to do an EQ2Flames sponsored dev chat until after our big move. On top of current server loads and attacks on this site, a well-attended chat session could very well bring this site down.

"What big move" you say? Hah, for now, thats for us to know, and you to find out.

We are planning a massive upgrade and improvements, to once again double or triple our bandwidth and throughput. Stay tuned for further details!

Once the upgrade is done, we feel we will have the most powerful EQ2 fansite server on the Internet, except for the official forums of course. Then, we will be able to rock with chats and similar events. Hell, we'll be able to install all kinds of entertaining crap. This may become a veritable activity center!

Thanks!

why IRC?,,,,why dont you start a thread ask a dev. Let people post questions they would like to ask, then take the top 10 as you see it, and make a post and ask them to answer them? This is better it will give Devs a chance to look them over and think about it

Sounds good, LFG. I'll just keep adding questions to my list as I think of them.

Yeah, a lot of guilds are still trying, to kill Wuoshi, not necessarily because he is that hard, but because it takes so long to get to him, and it is late by the time you can even start pulling to learn the encounter.

The ONLY reason you see Radar addressing "Kendricke" on here is because Kendricke repeatedly came off as miffed that a representative from EQ2 Flames was invited, and had a "look down on that kind of site" attitude.

It wasn't a flame of Kendricke, who despite having a *really* arrogant persona is actually quite intelligent and comes up with REALLY good questions, but a simple fact pointing out that Cal put up with a lot of flak for backing this site.

The summit had nothing to do with fan sites or numbers or anyone being "better" or worse. We were all equals and we were all treated equally.

Maybe you should learn about what you speak of before you throw out bitter half-assed assumptions.
I am sorry, but if he is so Intelligent about anything, especially this game, why did his guild just beat Vyemm not long ago?

I haven't been around for a while, but had to reply to the Kendricke crap
