Shitty Raiders? Special needs guilds? Seriously do you guys read half the shit you post or are you just so busy stroking each others epeens its an impossibility?
How long has the expansion been out now? Bragging rights are over, no one is going for disco’s and I would think that any guild who would stand to benefit from the current changes should be of no concern to any of you l33t people anyways. It’s not like someone’s going to say "Ohhh we can buy stakes and wolfsbane now, lets hit up the avatars".
I am the guild leader of what many of you would consider a casual raiding guild. That’s not to say my raiders are not hard core in there own rights. Most of the people in my guild are in there mid 30’s and all have professional jobs. We yield 2-3 people with phd’s, a decent amount of law enforcement, teachers, a high qty of medical professionals and much more.
These people HAVE to get up and go to work in the morning. So staying up till 2-3 AM is not a possibility for them.
Many of them have families, so raiding 5-7 days a week is also not a plausibility for them.
Imagine this, your going under the knife for a simple procedure your doctor has been up until 3am for the last 5 days working on a raid zone and he’s also suffering massive depression because his wife just left him and took the kids because they feel neglected by him. Do you really want this? I mean you could come out missing a nut or something by mistake.
In EQ1 my husband and I were in a 5 night a week raid guild, 5+ hours a night and raiding top end content. We would rush home from work nuke something and eat dinner infront of the computer to assure we weren’t late for raids. We had a 2nd job in EQ1 and that was raiding. FFS the day we got married we had to be at a flagging raid THAT NIGHT because we needed the flag for progression. Am I proud of that fact? FUCK NO! But.., its done and over with. We both enjoy raiding so we made adjustments to ensure we could raid the way we wanted to. Plus I can always use that ol "Ohhh I never really had a honeymoon" trip every now and then .
When we started playing EQ2 we asked ourselves if that’s what we wanted again. A 2nd job. The answer was no.
A lot of people who you guys are chalking up to be "Special needs guilds" or "Shitty raiders" are in the same exact boat we were in. Sorry we just can’t compete with those 24-year-olds that work at Mc Donald’s and still live in mommy and daddy’s basement. Oh you got one up on us! Good on you! We bow to your enormous epeen.
Our guild raids 3 nights a week, were even throwing in another raid every other Sunday to make sure were not totally forfeiting other zones (IE: deathtoll). We have cleared all KoS raid content and we are now working towards EoF progression. Were ½ through FTH and we have every mob down in MMIS with the exception of Mayong. Were not out there trying to fight for your bragging rights, were just trying to play the damn game and enjoy it.
Your EoF set loot that is going to your alts, transmuting or rotting that you take for granted? Those are our first pieces that thrill us to see drop. 1 piece of set gear on one of our raiders causes more delight then you could ever imagine. In one zone 2 named mobs have dropped the same exact loot for us 4-5 out of 6+ times at it.
That’s just great (thanks for that SoE!) Anyone need fury or brigand arms? Because, umm we damn sure don’t.
We had issues with EH because our 2nd tank is a cop and was on nights for 3 months so it was pretty hard rolling in there with one tank. The multitude of crap tanks we got through our door during the application process was unbelievable as well. We faced a unique dilemma. For our guild to progress we either needed another tank who was geared equally to (or better than) us, or we went back and farmed kos zones again to make another tank where he could stand in enough to progress with us in EoF. So the Stakes and wolfsbane has been somewhat elusive to us at this point.
All of my raiders are quality players, and above that they’re all quality people. They bust ass for their "meager" accomplishments and I’m pretty sure were not the only guild out there like this, just read some of these post!
Are you guys so worried that a guild like this., 100% NOT your competition on any level may be thrown a bone? JFC you guys stake these vamps at 6% kill it and move on. When it comes time, we have to throw the kitchen sink at it. We have groups w/o bladedance (that’s not excuses not to have your ass in there burning that mob down!), depend on chanter stuns, and pray to god decaps and other heavy hitters (LB MB etc) are up to get these mobs down and ensure were wrapping the night up at 11:30. Ninja AFKs a problem? Not with us because you ninja on one of those names and your caught. If we don’t kill it the first go around, were down till all the big shit refreshes.
You guys have got your discos., you have moved on to avatars and contested mob battles. Who the fuck cares that a guild can buy stakes at 2+ plat a pop?
You guys should feel like hot shit, because in game you are. Other players strive to be like you guys. Do you know how many nights people look up your eq2 player profiles to see how your spec’ed and possibly mimic you? Or even DREAM about seeing the gear that adorns your alts bodies. I don’t want to come off as putting any of you high end raiders down, because really that’s not my goal here. You guys are out there, clearing the new content and blazing trails for other guilds. Kudos to you.
I’ve been where a lot of you hard core raiders are coming from. "Go hard or go home". And that’s awesome and it’s a fucking amazing feeling to be clearing that shit within days/weeks of release. Its accomplishments you guys should stand proud of! My hats off to you who have the luxury / ability of doing that. Seriously.., YOU GUYS ROCK. But come on.. Cock Blocking? Go cock block each other when the content is new and fresh, not these guilds who are striving to stand before wuoshi before RoK comes out (note I said stand before, not take down. Take down is a bonus!).

Whats the point of beating a nerfed mob?????
I am not in a uber hardcore raiding guild. Tuesday was my first attempt at Mayong. We got her to 47% as Deludar said.
If we needed the mob nerfed for us to kill it then what does that say?????
It says we might have never killed it.
I would rather fail 1000 times and finaly succed the day befor rok then need a mob nerfed so i can kill it.
Whats the fun in killing a easy mob????
Their is none. You clear the easy zones for gear (rare drops and alts), money and a escape from concetration that is requiered in the harder zones. I don't raid for just the loot.I raid because I want the sence of urgentsy when you fight a tough mob.
Dps needs to kill it fast because the longer its alive the more shit can go bad, The tank needs to hold agro and ot needs to be ready if shit hit the fan the Healers need to be ready to cure and spam if he takes spike damage.
You don't get that on easy mobs. You get don't steal agro guys or you get a brig/wizzie tanking half a named fight because they took agro and can be kept alive.
