A lot of the casual raiding guilds don't have the numbers within their own ranks to hold a DKP system. And those that do have the member numbers, their members aren't all high enough to warrant it.

So what are we supposed to do? Do whatever we had to, to get through the content - alliances, pickup raids, what have you. Which starts the cycle I posted about earlier.

not sure she said "no loot system" think she said it wasn't working for her. (Ie her magic die sucks royal balls) the alliance I was raiding with had a DKP system but it was really expensive and only went to gear... all masters/junk/body drops went to their guild only.

I heard of a guild where the guild leaders gave themselves double dkp for 2-boxing. There are good and bad dkp systems, but the bad ones are easy to avoid.

i told you exactly what is happening....and you can tell me where im wrong.

Then you complain that the reason you guys arent succeeding is because you always have to recruit new people because everyone else leaves for better guilds. And im telling you exactly why. The guild itself is poorly structured. One person who has been there for a month and gotten nothing has the same chance as someone who has been there for 2 months and gotten nothing. The person who shows up once a week has the same chance of getting something as someone who shows up everyday. You dont see how this pisses people off?

if that is what you want that is fine and dandy, but that is why you are experienceing the troubles you are having. You are CHOSING not to fix it the same way you are CHOSING not to farm for masters/plat. so you really have no room to complain for whatever shortcoming you feel you are hitting with your guild, stuff doesnt just get thrown at you, you have to take a proactive appraoch to it.

And at the mention of a DKP system in this guild, several of our core raiders said they would quit, which would leave us more in a hole than what we're already in.

My second guild had a modified DKP that was working for a while. But the players (who had the luckier dice) were getting pissed because they couldn't win the loot they needed and end up quitting the guild because of it. It literally tore our guild in half and left us with barely any raiding team. At Vanguard's release, the guild is a ghost town now and I think only a handful of alts and mules are left.

The guild I'm in now has several strong raiders, but we need to beef up our ranks. Raiders who are already in a raiding guild won't go backwards in progression, so we're left with people who are up and coming and need to be geared...which starts the cycle.

You are already in a raiding guild so these problems are an easy fix from the outside. If it was that simple, there would be more raiding guilds then there currently are, and there aren't.

If your core raiders are going to leave so be it. You built the Guild on a rotten foundation in the first place and now have to deal.

ANY loot system that uses RNG unless it’s to decide ties (and even in those cases theirs better metrics to use) is dumb and will only lead to disaster.

I have no sympathy for your guild falling apart as it was built on a flawed system. Sometimes you need to rip out all the pipes to fix the plumbing.
