Choppy choppy choppy

I have a P4, 3GHz, hyperthreaded CPU. Normally when I ran two accounts at the same time, the CPU time for each was around 50%. But now it has this fixation to run each at around 25%, and both accounts are running choppy like a motherfucker.

Is EQ2 trying to ignore the simulated second processor for some bizarre reason? When I force the CPU affinity of the first process to CPU1 and the affinity of the second process to CPU2, they each go back up to around 50% CPU time and are playable. But now every two seconds, there's an annoying split-second rendering pause.

WTF is going on here?

thanks, didn't notice i could do that till you mentioned it.

al this time i just thought it was my PC running like shit ad wanting a format that i can't be arsed to give it.

but yes i've noticed a real lack of performance when running two accounts on 1 PC. that is comapred to running two accounts on the same PC a few months back, its worse now. I used to run with 2 PCs, but my second PC died and i started runing two on one and ran smooth enough. recently been considering fixing my old one (mobo died and its old enough that replacing = whole new PC almost).

i used to use the same core when boxing and over time i think i actually burnt it out/fucked it up in some way or another from all the stress put on it by 2 EQ2s at once. by the time i was ready to get rid of the system i was benchmarking it as if it were a 2GHz with a clean install of XP.

Saturated CPU usage is really the same whether it's one process using 100% or two processes using 50% each. As long as you're cooling the processor properly, you should be fine.

Has been working for me like that up till now (also 2 accounts on same puter), did this happen after this new GU?

I have an amd dual core cpu for the record.

I used to run 2 on the same computer all the time with very minimal problems, but now if I open up 2 accounts at the same time they both come to an absolute scretching halt and I can't do jack shit.

ed: seriously though, try posting your issue in the official forums. there probably arent enough people on this site that dual box, and i have found that the technial forums there are a bit more intelligent than the random kiddie shit oyu get everywhere else
