since you solo alot, i highly recommend an illusionist. can solo virtually any non-epic mob in the game. itll be kinda tough til you get to level 25 or so, but by the time you hit 30 nothing will stand in your way.

Brigands are a little bit better than Bards if you are not very interested in casting and maintaining buffs. Also, Brigands have much better solo survivability than a bard (depending on the player and all this is always debatable) and with the AA lines geared to it you can solo or group fairly well as a brig...

Hm, I suppose I will toss in my vote of Illusionist; although a Coercer would probably work just as well. (But let us be honest, Illusionists tend to be sexier. After all, don't Coercers have to coerce people into dating them? *nods*)

On the Brigand or Bard debate...while I liked my Dirge when I played him, he was not the best at solo. Brigand > Bard solo. Enchanter > Brigand solo. If you liked the idea of a 'pet' class, but could not get into the Necro or Conjurer, an Enchanter would be a good alternative for solo purposes. Though they group aspect is obviously quite different between the two Archetypes.
