/agree
Even having a main Brigand (and yes I can solo very well with him) the Illusionist just totally owns for fucking soloing. It's not as slow as people probably think either.
I went the Time line in the Illusionist AA section first for Brainburst (props to Cal for the help there), and like Manyak said around L30 you can solo pretty much whatever you want.

Wow how original TBH you really need to learn a little tongue in cheek defense of your choice to play. Sylvia whom I gather is really just a shit stirrer and no longer plays EQ2 (unlike myself if you'd looked at my info and I don't list my Character since it's my SN here) I personally have one level 70 and a zillion different alts most of them recently re rolled (feel free to investigate at your leisure) , as well as a 2nd account for two boxing. So keep your assumptions to yourself. I really wasn't responding to you at that point in the thread, I had already done that.

70 defiler (perma retired), 70 necro (perma retired), 70 coercer, 70 warlock, 70 swashbuckler. 70 bruiser (semi retired)
I was suggesting those things because i don't want you to end up like me :P jk jk. Hey if you like the game, go and do you thing, as long as you're having fun.

Re: wondering about a good alt
well osime if you were responding to me then why post it here???? take it somewhere else bc all i was doing is asking a simple question not trying to get crap from others or having someone come in here and start throwin crap at someone else.....
as far as me being a geek well sylvia might wanna look at yourself bc ive only got 1 character in eq2 and hes a lvl62.....i count 6 that you mentioned there hmmm so who's the geek?
and as far as osime goes you not only has a bunch of alts he has another ACCOUNT and computer that he uses to play.....

Uh, have you actually paid attention to how things work on this forum? I mean, FFS, the forum is called eq2 flames. If you come here with the intention of just asking a "simple question" without "crap from others," you may as well turn around and grab your ankles now. Or you can find the humor in it and give back as good as you get.
If that doesn't appeal, crawl back to the official forums, ask all the simple shit you want there, and call the mods on people who give you grief.

Re: wondering about a good alt
Oh, and I have to put in another word for illusionists. My illy alt (at 37 now) has shit gear and all app IVs except mezzes and mana regen and can take down low-mid orange solo mobs with few problems. Anything even con or lower just kinda melts. She's full agi specced now and working on int. Granted, it takes a certain degree of skill to get the most out of a chanter, but they do have vast potential for soloing, grouping and raiding.

Re: wondering about a good alt
*Points at the Illusionist board* The typical (I hate to say cookie cutter, but if the mold fits..) Illusionist AA lines are Time and Enchanting, with Int/Agi. Below is the newest normal DPS mod, to my knowledge, recently changed with the patch.
AGI: 4/4/8/7/1
INT: 6/4/4/8/1
These seem to be the most agreed upon specs for the different Illusionist/Enchanter AA lines. You could probably find further information on the Illusionist boards from Illusionists more knowledgeable than I.
