Re: SOD Questline
What about Pani?
Does any gypsy now give the update?
SOE just gave every hardcore dedicated player the proverbial dick in the ass by making this change this quickly.
If they were going to do it, do it the same time RoK comes out but not now.

No, the overpopulation of amazing quest rewards is a very big concern of mine. Now every scout can walk around with the GDH 2.0 and every tank can get a free 5% chance to block with a shield.

Re: SOD Questline
I find it endlessly funny that the >1% of the 'serious hardcore' folks always get their collective panties in a wad because somebody they don't view as equally uber actually got a nice item. Hate to say it guys but you might want to realize that from SOE's financial perspective, which I promise you is their #1 perspective, the hardcore raider scene is utterly insignificant. They will always choose to make the masses happy rather than the so-called elite few because in the MMO world the 80/20 principle flat out doesn't apply and if all the top 20 or 30 guilds quit en-masse SOE's bottom line wouldn't sag in the least. May as well get over yourselves now because the accountants at Sony did long before you ever bought the game to begin with.

Re: SOD Questline
Chapter 1 - sucked because it was too low level, and involved running pointlessly in circles in new tunaria
Chapter 2 - sucked because it was a rip off from speak as a dragon, only blatantly extended as more of a timesink. Has to go down in the record books for quest requiring the least development time in comparison to player time though.
Chapter 3 - is actually pretty decent, despite all the complaints, but way too short especially with the CMM part nerfed. I finished it before they nerfed the nameds to placeholders; it only took a day. I don't see why something that wasn't a huge timesink to start with, and would take a casual player a perfectly reasonable 5-6 visits to CMM, was changed to be a 2 hour job. I can only assume next thing to happen will be Vikomt nerfed to heroic as people start complaining about his pop time and aren't good enough to 1-group him. If they wonder why they're losing players, it's because it's too easy to complete all the heroic content so for non-raiders there's nothing left to do. Having the major heroic quest take an afternoon doesn't help.
The rewards are also wildly varying in use to different classes and show how little SoE understand their own game. They've convoluted the mechanics so many times now (+ spell damage? just fix the retarded curve and base spell damage off int...) even they're confused at the actual effectiveness of the items they create. What happened to the promises the SoD reward would be useful for every class? +75 spell damage is simply better for an Enchanter than a Sorcerer, but then since SoE don't understand the game it'd be pointless trying to explain why.

Eventhough the GDOH does not require skill but sheer luck I agree.

I find it endlessly funny that 'serious soft core people' are so brilliant that they have no clue as to what serious raid people want.
Its not having the item thats important, its the rooad that leads to it.

Re: SOD Questline
I'm well aware of the road to an item being important given that I've been raiding damn near every night since mid t5 and have busted my ass on every major quest line and worked on every raid zone out there. That still doesn't change the fact that SOE will always be inclined to make the vast majority of things doable for the majority of players simply because if they didn't they'd lose a lot of the casual players who happen to make up the vast majority of their subscribers. Think of it as compared to Vegas casinos: they could completely stop doing anything for the average joe who spends maybe $100-200 when he visits and focus only on the high rollers....and they'd be out of business in about 2 weeks since those average joes are the ones actually bringing in all the money.

Re: SOD Questline
I like camping stuff. I miss the days when you would get a group together and sit somewhere for a few hours. Now, if a pick up group takes more than 45 minutes, people bitch its taking too long. I guess instant gratification is the new "in thing" so I have learned to just suck it up, but boy do I miss those camps.... call me all the names you want, I enjoyed it, AND it gave me an opportunity to get to know the people I was with. Chit-chatting in a group is almost unheard of. Its kinda sad... At least when you're sitting in a room for a couple of hours, you can talk.
And BTW, there is no named in this game that takes 67 times to pop. They did something back around KOS that made it so nameds pop all the damn time. It might take 4 or 5 PH's, but I've never been disappointed in a named-camping group, be it from ROV up through MMC, in having to wait for specific nameds.
