No, what I"m saying is that I tried to work with the default faces, and no matter how much I tried to sink in her cheeks, she still looked like a chubby kid and nothing like an elf.

morph controls for both soga and default models are the same, you have the same functionality with both models and can customize either models face equally.

Thats my problem with default. You look like Al Bundy no matter what you do.

I use a mix of both. For example, I like default ogre males but absolutely hate default human males. SOGA hair can be overly anime styled which I don't love in my EQ2, but it still often beats the stick on fuzz lumps that are the default hairstyles. Both have issues with body proportion and how those bodies fit into certain gear.

There is no one or the other ftw. What would really be ftw? The new graphics update that is in the works. Even if it was suddenly in tomorrow I'd still say it was too many months late.

Of all the MMOs I watch, play, or have played, EQ2 seems to be the most hellbent on keeping you ugly. Hurry the fuck up Devs. Mr. "Fat Corporate Prick Behind The Desk", increase their budget to enable them hurrying the fuck up. There are areas where your product needs major polishing. This is one of them.

You should actually give that a try on the SOGA models sometime. You could have all of the face modifying sliders all the way to the left or all the way to the right and the face will look exactly the same.

If you want your character to look like a crack whore, you should just say so.

No, it'd be nice if she actually looked like an elf, though.

Elves are thin, willowlike, and graceful. Their faces are more angular and chiseled than a human's. High cheekbones, almond shaped eyes, damn near nymph like.

You show me on the default where I can make a character look like that WITHOUT making her look dead.

For starters, neither the Standard nor the SOGAY character models allow you to change body size and shape other than height. The SOGAY models do create thinner characters than the Standard models, but they are definately of the crack whore/suburbanite heroine addict type of wasting away thinness, not of the willowlike fantasy race type thinness. That willowy nymphness is relative in comparison to the Human norm. You should compare your elven character to a Human character to determine if your elven he-she fits the definition of thin and graceful rather than viewing the model through any pre-existing biases.

Beyond that, when faces become too angular and chiseled, they just look fucking freaky.

I actually have created Standard model elves with high cheekbones, almond shaped eyes, with faces with angular features. But they were fucking high elves and those are just too fucking girly for me. And they were male high elves!

A crack whore tried to get me to drive her somewhere the other day. She didn't look bad!
