I kinda figured the only point of a moderator was to remove/ban spammers, find gross racist/homophobic/sexist vulgarities that were intended to harm, and things of that nature.

The power you've given them doesn't really make sense for this site; it just allows them to become huge headed children taking out their sorry lives on internet commuters. Like the joke I made to ashmoria earlier today... "My penis is 8 feet long on the internet!"

To add, we actually have more freedom on the eq2 site class discussions than we do here, because their moderators have strict rules to follow regarding post deletion. Here we just surrender to the will of a few leetist douchebags.

If you play a class as your main and your shit is getting deleted when you try and express an opinion about your class, I'd be greatly concerned about that and would want to know and take action.

If you are posting opinions in another class section about core issues involving that other class, and your shit is getting deleted, IMO the system is working as intended.

If your shit is getting deleted in someone else's class forum and you really and truly feel the right and need to speak your mind about that issue, just start a post in another non-class forum. You are also free to start a Rate a Retard post against any class leader for any reason, if you dare. You can even start a Rate a Retard post against me if you don't like this system, or for any other reason.

This system has major checks and balances, there are processes in place that permit you to have your day in court here and speak your mind regarding any person or issue involving this website. You just need to pick the proper section to do that.

What you don't have the right to do here, starting on day 1 when the server sections were formed, is to demand shit in someone else's class forum. Class forums are intended to be run by class experts and to promote quality class related discussions and information, by and between members of that class.

I'm moving this thread to the main General Discussion section so more people can comment about these issues, and especially what you've stated above. This is really a site-wide issue.

I strongly disagree with what you've said above, but invite general comment from other users.

In other words, the class forum mods are the nazis. Great. Ill just stay away from there then, since I thought the point of this ENTIRE forum is open discussion. Having outside opinions isn't BAD for a discussion, in fact is rather healthy. And what the fury class leader did in that post was NOT "editing off topic posts" it was blatantly abusing his editing powers to make Ashmoria look like an idiot.

The other dude posting freaking 30 (exaggeration) posts in that forum is not a Fury. But he has no threat of having his posts deleted because he has some kind of blood pact with the leader... which you'll find a lot considering dissolution runs most of them.

Special exception - Phov and Itoock were among the most respected Pals gamewide. Itoock had the forum, then nominated Phov to take it over when he left. Phov had recently changed mains, but still had the class expertise. Plus, Phov is a level headed guy and I'm not sure anyone could do a better job with the Pal section.
