The quickest way to stunt a discussion about these forums, LFG, is for you to personally respond to every post. People who would want to say something may feel they shouldn't because you'll jump in and prove where they are wrong or why your idea is the right one.

I think its wrong to allow the kind of moderating freedom you are giving the class leaders. Sure, keep OOT discussions away, protect the site rules. But to allow them to implement their own rules about what is and isn't allowed makes them and you no better than the general forums. Its a different ruleset, but still some of the class leaders are downright vicious in their attacks of anyone who posts what they deem as "stupid." Even something written that was OBVIOUSLY a tongue-in-cheek joke about what a waste of time giving chanters the ability to root epics was nixed by Calaglin because he felt it was "too stupid" to stay. How exactly does that kind of iron-fisted moderating foster discussion? I'll tell you how... there's been 3 posts in the Illusionist forum since. Ok maybe not THAT few, but it definately has stifled the discussion in there.

Honestly, I wanted to make a joke out of the self-serving editing that I found disturbing, and maybe cover my ass a little in case my observations suddenly disappeared. I think there was a lot of off-topic crap going on in that thread, and your decision to move the topic out of the Fury forums was the right one. I'm not out to challenge how your forums are setup, but to learn how to deal with the system you've created.

Seriously, you are the last person on Earth who should ever criticize anyone on the basis of responding to every post.

You want to claim a Forum Leader is abusing his or her discretion? You haven't done that. Instead, I read you complaining that these forums have become more corrupt than Tijiuana and are now being run by a bunch of Nazis. I think you have unwisely chosen to make those claims and escalate this matter, but it's your right to do that here.

I open it to public discussion whether Slix was abusing his or her (sorry I really don't know which it is) powers in the Fury forum based on the incident described in this thread.

It appears to me Slix was within his rights to moderate the Fury section according to how he sees fit, by limiting arguments from non-furies that were taking over ten page threads.

Coming from someone in a rival guild of Ashmoria and Goozer I think it could've been handled much better than it was. Editing Ashmoria's post to say "I'M A CRY BABY..." and changing Ash's post into an insult towards Ashmoria is pretty much the worst possible form of "moderation" and I would consider it an abuse of power.

That isn't what he did, though. He in no way limited arguments or stopped "non-furies" from getting involved. What he did was basically flame me, but he didn't even post it as himself. He altered the text in my post for the sole purpose of an insult, using his power as moderator for self-gratification. It's a shady act, and one that I think he deserves to be called out on.

Again, I don't have any problem with the system you've got going here. This thread is still here, and from what I've seen has not been edited or messed with yet. As long as I'm able to mock Slix for their actions I don't care where you want to move the thread.

If a forum mod is changing posts to insult the poster because they don't agree (for whetever reason) that moderator is abusing his/her powers and should be removed.

If the mod disagrees with the post it should be removed in it's entirety or the offending parts excised.

I'll agree that Class Leaders should not alter a person's posts to make it look like they posted words they didn't post, and am asking all Class Leaders not to do that in the future. Class Leaders should either delete the post they find objectionable outright, or add comments that are clearly their own.
