I'm certainly not trying to excuse some of them, but there are devs registered here who read these posts. This isn't the only thread mentioning character copies to test. Someone actually ran a pole iirc. This one just maybe got a little more heated than the others.
There are some very vocal people here, thank god, and they don't usually give up when they see something they feel is wrong. I try not to look at it as whining, more like passionate about the game.

I dont agree that the testing we have now is perfect - but it is what we have... And yes I do believe that Disso's players who are complaining about this should get off thier asses and go and make a toon and test it.
Having a Copy Test server I think would be only one solution. I think the current test method is good for questing - AA's and what not which is not related to raiding. Maybe it would be benificial to the raiding community and SOE to have a server which guilds or others could copy thier toons over to a RAID TEST SERVER for the sole purpose of only testing raid content. Then say every 3 months or every 6 months wipe the server and have those guys recopy thier toons - or even just let them keep it - so they can see the raid progression with the gear that drops in these raid zones.

Re: FYI for those of us who (used to) like to play on Test server
I would LOVE it if they opened up a Raid test server part time with copies available and a wipe after the content goes Live.
I would spend my time just logging the chat so that I could post it here and call you cum dumpsters ad fuckbags like you call all of us because shit goes live broken.
The only thing a good portion of you would doo is see what loot is there, how you can get around the system just so you could make your e-peen bigger when it goes live by trying to be the first on your server to do it.
And yes, I think if an exploit was found, you wouldn't report it till after it went live.
Since PvP test is a part-time server, maybe they could swap it back and forth.
I smell bullshit.
(And I am NOT saying everyone here would be worthless, but I think the loudest cvoices are the ones who would exploit the situation, and yes, I mean you Wideass)

I fully agree with this statement and with the idea of the Raid Test Server. However, I do not think that the character copies should be limited to just Raiding. These players can provide important feedback about the "Epic" quest lines and so forth since they are usually the ones that WW 1st them anyway. While I do believe that the current testing community does a good job with the questing, AA, and other group/solo parts of the game and some of the stuff that we don't always even experience (like crafting which I personally hate) this type of shared system will ultimately help both the high-end and low-end player to have a more well-rounded and successful game to play...

When I read this I laughed because I picture you just red with fury and slamming your keys as you typed.
That being said it's not about the loot, it's about the encounter. If they wanted to raid test they could just give the named mobs no loot table. It would be a way to test the encounters scripts and whatnot. The problem is that if you want to test raids you need to give everyone a chance to test them. If it's the new zone SOE has to have some pre-req like "if the guild can take down an avatar they can raid test the new content". So you get the guilds that have the most experience killing higher-end material testing higher end material. (more people testing = more feedback = more bugs = more bugs fixed)

I would actually like to see that but not sure how it would work. With everyone able to copy over to one server, wouldn't it just become THE server to be on?
I think they should alternate the top 10 raiding guilds. Have 2 or 3 at a time allowed to copy over, allow them to test for a bit, wipe the server and repeat. Allowing them all would just lead to tremendous lag for them wouldn't it? Not a lot of testing to be done when you can't move.
Just my thoughs on the matter.

No, I'm not and wasn't in a rage. I have a really shitty keyboard here at work. I think the person who had it before me was a snacker.

HELL YES. That being said lag SHOULD be tested. You're never going to test 4 or 5 guilds in the same raid instance on the current test server. I hate the lag on a long fight and lag wipes the raid. That shit sucks.
I like the idea of getting 4 or 5 top guilds copied over to test stuff (that is if they WANT to) at a time to test lag issues and scripts.

Understandable about this part of what you said. And if you did a server wipe either after the content went live or before you allowed another group of people to test the content, for example the other half of the top WW guilds that are able to copy over then it would lower the chance that they would spend time here when there was not testing. Also, this is a situation that should only be open when the raid instances and raid mobs are being tested before implementation on the Liver Servers; It would not have to be open all the time.
Also, with regards to the lag issues, it would be a great way to test new contested mobs before implementation. They could be locked in instances to test the encounter, scripts, adds, etc... Then be moved to an outside location where 3 or 4 + guilds could gather around for chances at pulling and rotating those pulls. SOE could progressively add more guilds to the mix to see where lag issues would come into play and either adjust the server or at least the guild leaders would have an idea of when it was too much and they could work around it themselves...reasonably of course

haha real cute...now trying to threaten me in a different thread after people were making fun of you...i was never going to fan fair under any circumstance. at some point people have to draw a line between reality and fantasy meeting these people in RL blur that line and is pretty unhealthy IMO. im certainly not going there just to see the look on your face when i call you a fuckstick. just know you are in deed a fuckstick.
