I can't say how or when the test channel was formed, but I've always seen it used as a place where developers, coders and quality assurance people can ask for testers of a certain level to come help test something when it's needed. Edit: And it is just something they don't want to listen to until it effects them. I mean plat spammers where nothing they ever cared about and they just didn't want to hear about it, until the day they got a plat spammer. Then it was the end of the world and it was all you heard about in the test channel...

Motherfuck they are some elitist fucksticks. I've fought my fight against them, and had plenty of opposition. My personal opinion on it now? Pretend as though the Test server no longer exists, folks. The more you attempt to get them to do what their only fucking purpose is, the more that they are going to hide their facts, bugs, and other issues with the game from you.

I'm perfectly with the testers finding their own chat channel to BS in, every other server has their 60-69 chat. Test chat was generally just a community chat channel anyway, although a few people would speak up about a bug (usually a very obvious one). Every technical or class-specific bug I tended to simply /feedback or /bug and several of them were fixed, in most cases quickly because there were no complex mechanics involved.

I don't know if test.test is(was) the best place to sound off on 'global' problems like complaining about plat farmers or problems with the RNG of loot rolls, anyway. Efforts to record this information and post it on the official forums seemed better to get attention than the test.test chat.

1. I speak only for myself as I have no right or desire to speak for others.
2. I play on test and consider it my home server.
3. My live characters in total do not exceed 40th level.
4. I love seeing new folks on TEST.
5. I would love to see SOE allow moves to test just like any other server either for free or via the same pay to move service available to other servers.
6. I will NEVER show attitude to ANYONE moving or starting on test.
7. I love to chat with new folks and if I can help with bags. Send me materials and I will email you back bags or if i have materials I will be happy to make them for your for free.
8. We, Test, do not have enough people to hit all the zones and this is something that has been mentioned repeatedly.
9. There are new guilds ramping up for raids on test to the best of my knowledge.
10. The guild I am in has been doing more and more raids and we are all working hard to move to the areas that you speak of, to the best of my knowledge. I am not an officer and don't have all the info so I can only speak to what I see.

I will always listen to the main test channel and I tell low level characters about the channel all the time. I am not sure what originally started the whole "test is elitist" thing and I dont much care. I am a socializer so I just don't understand why someone wants to say they are or act like they are better than others. You will find that if you spend time on test there are more people like me than there are elite folks. I will not say that the server is perfect as no server is. What I would like to suggest is for people to stop making such a fuss.

If you want better testing then come and build characters on test...yes being able to move a few here would be much faster and maybe the best solution but as SOE has flat out said no.. then we have to move on with what we have.. There is simply no point in laying that issue at the feet of the players when its clearly an SOE policy that we can not seem to change.

The big challenge with forums of any kind is that unless your directly involved with the issue being discussed then you only have a tunnel vision view of whats really going on.. In this whole "ELITE" case you only have a few opinions. I am saying that the folks on test are on the whole nice and friendly and ready to help. I am saying that they are on the whole moving to raid more and more. There are other posters who are saying quite the opposite. Frankly we can debate here until we are both blue greeen and red in the face and all your going to get is a very loooong boring post that will have sides devided on the issue or worse have folks getting the wrong idea all together.

Maybe I am blind maybe I am in the wrong and the OP is 100% correct but honestly the only way to know is to visit spend some time and make your own opinion. And I would also ignore the posts that say "oh i was there and it sucks or i was there and its great.." do yourself and us a favor and VISIT!! say hello get a bit active in the /test channel. see for yourself and make your own call as to what the real Test server population is like.

Do we have idiots on test.. sure.. heck i may be one of them hehe.. do we have some rude folks.. yup no doubt. do we have elite folks. sure. but which server does not. I would argue that you may notice any one of these a bit more when you visit because the population is smaller. IF ... IF more folks move, visit, play on test the population will even out and you will have more nice folks and sure you will have more idiots. but you will have more Nice ones to notice and talk with and group with.

If you have read this far please please ignore posts like this..yeah to be fair ignore ME and the OP and come make your own opinion!!! I am confident that if you do that. you will realize that the TEST server is like any other we have the same types of people good and bad and we are working as hard as we can to hit all the raid content.

So what you pretty much just said is that sure your home server is test, but you nor your guild care to test anything. You are there to socialize.

Personally I hope Sony just wipes out the test server and allows people to copy over and do the testing that way, because worthless people on the server who don't 'test' is a waste.
