UI Issues...

I don't know if its just me or what, but lately, my UI has been reverting to some OLD ass settings I haven't used in a long time. I change the UI back to what i had, but still every time I log in, I have to reset my chat channels and reset some of my chat colors. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've even deleted all my saved UI files and layed them out again, and then I changed my default UI and colors choices within the EQ2 Layouts directory, and it still keeps reseting to bullshit I don't like. Its really getting annoying to have to do it every time I log out or crash. I thought I was just doing something wrong, but I double checked everything and even saved from in game and it STILL keeps resetting.

Any suggestions you have for getting my shit to stay would be fanatastic.

What I have experienced UI-wise is shit doesn't stay where I put it.

I run an everything at the bottom layout and my little module that shows what I target ALWAYS moves down so that the spells and buffs on that target overlap on to my hotbars.

I have to change it every time I load the game and if I'm on long enough between zones after a while

To Alania, sorry I don't know. But to Endo, this sometimes happens when you change back and forth from windows mode to fullscreen mode - not sure if you ever do this. Also, there is an option somewhere that allows you to force the windows onto the screen, so if you have them dragged a little off the screen, it may end up moving it back. And sometimes it doesn't appear that the window is off the screen - hit f10 to view the entire window and adjust accordingly, or find that option and turn it off/on whatever.

Is that why?! Yeah I switch back and forth to pop online for quest help or to open Vent, etc.

That being said though the thing is above my hotbars so it's not touching any of the screen edges by a long shot.

It's just something small that just urks me to change each time.

I was having the same problem so I just changed mine around to use in window mode all the time. I also downloaded the new Profit UI which allows me to pop up quest help with just a click from either EQ2i, Google, or Alla. It has saved me a ton of frustration.

This is just a thought, but have you ever used a custom UI? Could you maybe still have the EQ2.ini file that is causing problems?

See, I dig fullscreen because the framerate is just so much better and I also get my videocard to AA (which doesn't happen in window mode).

That 1 click to eq2i sounds really sexy though. I may try profit, but I've got a couple of modules that I really like a lot that I don't want to loose.

If that little target module didn't drop all the time I wouldn't even be posting in this thread

Understandable on the full screen. I was just getting really close to chunking my computer out the window.

It sounds like when the game exits your settings are not getting written to the harddrive, the most common reason for this is that your settings files are write protected. Make sure that nothing in your EQ2 directory is read-only and this should fix your problem. I know that once a while back something caused many files in my EQ2 directory to randomly go read-only and it caused me a similar problem to what you're reporting.

oooh yeah I'll have to check that, thank you! It drives me nuts that I keep having to reset my channels and colors every time I log in or crash!
