Re: I love how SOE picks their beta testers.
Summary:
Letting guilds into Beta who have devs = bad
Guilds having devs overall = bad
Drow = bad
Lockeye = Does dude still work for Sony, cause from what I heard...well nevermind
So lets get back to more flaming on beta, and less on raiding...

Skippy? seriously?
So let's assume i was a wizard and decided to talk about how ignorant Lockeye's post was, would the fact that it was no longer "self centered" make the point more valid?
Like i said, i agreed that changes had to be made. You're damn right it was a blanket statement - one made in reference to a blanket statement made by lockeye. That post showed him to be entirely too capable of being a moron for me to trust him.

And I never said you did ;) I said that I can't see why "some templars" feel they are subpar healers (as i've seen the posts myself).

I think you are also assuming I'm trying to "defend" Lockeye. I do in fact like him, but I don't need to defend him. He makes mistakes like everyone else. He's not an idiot though.

Sure sounds like you're defending him.

It may seem silly to you, but it is not uncalled for. I am a lawyer (well, about to be one...if i passed the bar). If, say, a litigator writes frivolous complaints but argues them well...it doesn't matter how well he can argue, he is still an idiot for writing frivolous complaints. A failure small percentage of one's job can be a very good indicator of greater incompetence.
|
Lol...great another one.
I would disagree. I would say the litigator made idiotic comments and may have been an idiot at the time. I wouldn't say they were an idiot in general.

It's a damn good thing you aren't a lawyer.
EDIT: oh, btw, a complaint is a term of art. it's what you do to file a lawsuit. i don't mean he made "complaints" like when you complain to your mom about your bed time, i mean frivolous "complaints" like the ones that get you thrown in jail.

Can you honestly tell me with certainty you were completely objective about that subject? I can admit I was pretty fired up about the LU13 changes for Templars and lost objectivity more than once.

No, i was NOT objective about the subject, for fuck's sake, i said that i AGREED with the change. If he had posted "i am going to make changes to chanter's roots and control spells" and nothing more, I wouldn't be posting here.
My sentiment is based SOLELY on the ignorance he exhibited in the process.

Good. *clutches his Templar*
Going back and reading it? You are right it does, that's why I'm clarifying it. I don't need to defend the Devs, it's not my job.
Wasn't this thread about beta?

So your lack of objectivity did not weigh into you calling him an idiot (in general not in that statement) at all?

Are you reading what i am writing? My lack of objectivity was in his favor. I agreed that the change should have been made. My lack of objectivity should have made me worship him.
The manner in which he came to the determination and in which he communicated it to the community is what led me to call him and idiot...because it was idiotic.
EDIT: sorry, a bit of my own medicine, i missed the "in general not in that statement" part. No, what made me think he is an idiot in general is that he proceeded to defend his idiotic post in even more idiotic ways, refusing to acknowledge his ignorance. but, again, my lack of objectivity should have worked against this, it was just too much.
