There are a number of games companies out there in pretty much all genres with the balls to move release dates if a product isn't ready. It' about time SoE learned from previous mistakes & became one of them. Who knows, it might garner some more fucking respect and actually less whining on the boards than releasing broken crap.

If nothing else it would reduce the whining from dozens of 'this shit is broken' threads to a general 'It's late, waaah' whine.

Blizzard is one of those companies and why they garner a ton of respect. Hell they even cancelled a full game because it wasn't meeting their Quality levels and was beyond salvage.

A lot of the key players in the FPS market are also well known for their 'it's ready when it's ready' policies. Guess what, they delay the games until they are ready and still sell a crapload when they release.

Maybe the thinking with MMO's is that because the game is continually changing anyway, it's OK to release a product update and fix all the broken shit in it as they go.
