While nobody will confirm it or even discuss it, I have no doubt that the reason I'm not in beta is because of this site and comments I've made about EQ2 and SoE outside the SoE forums. This is the first beta I've not been invited to, and everyone else in the situation I was in is in beta except for me. There is no other reasonable conclusion that can be drawn.
This reinforces what I've been saying since Khalan was banned. That if you speak publicly against SoE or any member of the EQ2 team, you are cut off and no longer a member of the family. They don't want to hear the truth, they only want to hear what matches their agenda.
I have many friends at fansites, and know them all to be credible and respectable people. However, if I did not already have a well founded positive opinion of these people, I don't think I could believe anything they say, since I now know that they would lose their privileges with SoE if they said anything that was both (a) truthful and (b) sharply critical, whether on or off the SoE forums.
This is all fine with me, however, since I now feel relieved of any burden to temper my words. Also, after problems in past betas, I always felt reluctant to speak harshly of the released product, since I was in the beta but didn't discover that problem myself. I will not feel any hestitation to give my unqualified opinions on such issues in the future.
