SOE Selling RoK Beta Keys for $13...sorta - Page 3

Can anyone answer this for me. Do I need anything other then a regular EQ2 account to get into the beta from buying this magazine or is do I need something like Station Access. I would read it myself but I got Lasik's yesterday and reading long paragraphs is a bit difficult.

The beta key should be independent of your EQ2 account, it probably just comes in the magazine or an email. You could most likely hand it off to your friend and no one would know.

I'm...yeah I'm probably going to order a copy just to see what they do. Hopefully this will run longer than SOE worlds because it really wasn't all that bad.

SOE Worlds was a pretty good mag, I believe I got a couple free issues due to having Station Access and it wasn't 'that' bad.

A couple? You mean 1. The one and only previewing Bloodline Chronicles, and then it disappeared.

Im wondering what stage of beta it gets you into. A friend of mine won a screenshot contest and got a beta key for EoF and SoE didnt give it to him till after I got my beta key for just requesting it once open beta started. Be cool if it got you into early stages, but that may be counterproductive to testing idk. My bet is you will get this key right before open beta starts when you could just sign up for one and save yourself the money. That said I might still do it :P

SOE Worlds was cool, my guild was mentioned in it on some "quotes" section. It was pretty funny to see that as I was flipping through.

Same, I liked the one issue, is a shame. I used to get free Game Developer Mags too, but that supply stopped about a year ago

sucks ass, I have been getting them free since like 1999, maybe they figured out I wasnt a student anymore lmao.

Anyways, War3 sucks, and so did Lords of EQ. Best 50$ I have ever spent though, it gave me a full summer of fun in eq2 beta.

It is a great marketing idea for the magazine. Too bad they couldn't take some of that ingenuity and actually market EQ2.
