I played on Nagafen for a bit, I got tired of the constant barrage of 3-6, 8 lvls above me, groups coming down on me while I was trying to level. It got to be nothing short of stupid so I stopped playing over there. Like Laodaron said, I want to roll in enjoy either kicking or getting my ass kicked, and moving on. A cross server arena would be very cool, and the ability to have grudge matches even better.

Yeah exactly, many games have shown there's a large market of people looking to dabble in PvP but not make it their playstyle. While EQ2's might never be accused of being particularly deep as in an objective-based PvP or something like that, it's a sidegame for people to play at cap. Those kind of side perks are more important than you might think, especially ones that are social and friendly-competitive within the communities. It also gives a new route of advancement; I'm sure they could add top arena kills and such to the scoreboards, and they have unlocked titles and pets and stuff in game already. I think just sprucing it up a little on the individual servers and scattering entrances in Kunark might be a big first step.

I'm not at all clear what'd be the best way to go about it from the backend or if it's even feasible, but the idea is from the player end it'd be just as it is now except the games would be for all players from all servers.

I would be very interested in hearing if this is even something potentially on the radar, or if we pretty much have what we're going to have for the foreseeable future.

They would have to probably dedicate a server to it, where you could basically /arenacopy your toon there, on instead of typing that, you'd log in, and it would shoot your copy to that server, and chill out in the arena. There could maybe be an easier way, but I say they take the worthless Test server and dedicate it to this. It would be so much more rewarding for the community, and actually, more shit would probably be tested.

Faabio, I popped a chubby at your sig. I'd fall madly in love with you now, but clearly I'd have to be a lesbian.

Is that possible? I mean, when we do beta copies, it occasionally takes some time to get it done, particularly when many need it done at once. Do constant copies for a dedicated arena server seems unlikely.

Neat idea, I'm just failing to see how it could be done in a reliable manner.

Would the copy idea work if it were done at a random time though? Let's say if it were an option that you could have checked in your Options screen, to update your toon every 2 or 3 wks or something. If something changes in the mean time (new gear, master spells additional levels, etc) you could typ out /arenacopy or something and it would be set up to do in the next few days or so?

This could keep it from being 100's of people at one time and instead allow the copying to be set up during a spread out period of time.

If WoW can do a cross server arena, then there is no reason eq2 can't. That's really the single biggest thing that'd make it worth going to. And I like the idea of ditching the Test server to make it possible.

They need to atleast invest some research into how to make xserver arena possible. They also need arenas in the cities which do not require zoning (just an open arena pit), and once you enter them you are flagged pvp, and once you leave you are no longer flagged pvp. Easy, quick, fun for all.
