I don't feel stupid for playing Vanguard. Yes, it turned out to be shit, but big deal. I've wasted more money in one night at the bar than paying for 4 months of Vanguard. And for the number of nights that I didn't go to the bar to play, I consider it a gain - not a loss.

It wasn't the first flop of a game i've playing and I doubt it will be the last.
