The vote in the Unrest forums was put up as a "retard trap" - it is a joke. Congratulations, you're the winner!

Re: Does this forum need a Server Mod?
I'm going to put up a sample vote just to see how much drama we can stir up.
I really have no intention of adding a mod unless a lot of people expressed an interest in that.
My only purpose in putting up the poll is to prove that about 20 pages later in this thread, most people will not have read this far in, and will start freaking out based on the choices.
When that happens, y'all can deal with them. So this poll isn't supposed to decide anything really, it's just supposed to stir up the type of drama you see in the 69 channel when someone advertises loot rights to a no trade item, and 20 people start saying "you can't sell that, it's no trade!".
Ready? Here goes!

Woot, Angelina Jolie Sex Scene provided by Zango. This ad company sucks. Truely, isn't there something that at least fits the theme better? And I truely hope the pop-ups stop as they just tried to install to my work computer... and that would be a very bad thing...

damn and i voted bitmap hoping to help get a good moderator for unrest (i m still sad she aint winning the contest after all she done for unrest community )
the unrest boards are the only one providing entertainement at work now (rip befallen), so i spend my time trolling them.
i should have known better to not end my rant post on an absurd comment hoping people that knew about the thread would smile or get people freaked out by the moderator idea.
anyway the part about the flashing adds is true it s really annoying and some adds are NSFW at all if you missclicking when hidding the browser when a cooworker showup without any notice. :/

I'm putting our ad company on notice they need to fix this today so that it never re-occurs, or I'll need to remove their code from the site and use a different agency.
Also merging this with the existing thread on this issue.

Re: Seeking ideas to make people less upset about the ads
This is the message I just emailed to our ad agency.
I have two backup advertising agencies lined up and ready to go if this isn't resolved by close of business today:
Quote:
I need your ads that are attempting to install a redirect download exe and trojans onto my user's comps to be removed asap today, or I'll have no choice but to remove your code and use a different ad agency. This is a huge threat to my users and site, and one I can't wait to be resolved. Below is a post from a user, this has been reported by multiple users running virus software so I consider it highly credible:
"Twicce today upon visiting this site, symantec has found a downloader virus, also the ads are either changing my page on their own or they chang eit when i click to close them, seriously man, fix this shit, its fucking pathetic

Thanks for looking into this as soon as possible.

Re: Seeking ideas to make people less upset about the ads
Just FYI, I check with AVG everyday, and got one trojan yesterday, but that's it. One trojan is too many, however. I believe you on the redirect exe, I just wonder if this is some compounding thing. I don't know what I'm talking about enough in this area to assess this, however.
Thanks again for reporting it - the various issues with the "drive cleaner" unwanted pop ups, several users reporting a trojan, and several users reporting what you are reporting now, is enough for me to take swift and decisive action unless this is immediately corrected.
