I have logins for probably 40-50+ active accounts across many servers and many games (not disclosing if it is against the EULA)

I've never heard of anyone getting screwed in eq2 by sharing account info but I'm sure it happens.

I like to think the people I talk to and play with are very genuine

Its just hard for me to even concieve someone stooping to moral lows when it comes to video games. Wheres the motivation?

I offer two choices:

1. Phat lewt, for profit, to steal the contents of a toon then sell it for RL $.

on the other hand Account Sharing is probably not a good idea in the sense of assuming what somone is capable of when really pissed off is probably something we could be incorect about ....

so..therefore..before you give your info to somone close, do something REALLY bad to them and see if they become angry enough to destroy something close to you ;)

or just keep your info safe lol

As for account sharing, I have all sorts of fun when I get tells if I have my wife's char logged on. She'll get to the computer and 10 mins later be "wtf did you tell XXX!!?!".

A couple of people have my info, but it's mainly because a healer is a relatively critical class and it's better if I'm away for some reason that someone can log me in and not inconvenience the other 20 people wanting to raid.

It's because money is worthless in EQ2...At one point in FFXI 300,000 gil was selling for $40. A guy in my guild had info for 2 of our blm's so he could farm elementals. One day they logged in and were missing thier capes 5mil each and all thier staffs 6-8 x 1mil+ each. so he made like 22+mil which he sold for around 3 grand and bought a car. This later turned into a legendary post that went about 100 pages on Killing Ifrit forums about what kind of car he bought which included pictures of chevettes, pacers and gremlins etc.

Bah, it's a mixed bag in my books. Some people are more relaxed and casual players, others impart a more personal sense of "self" to their toons. There are some friends that, given their account info, I'd never touch it unless specifically requested to go run them in somewhere. Even then it would feel wierd. Others, I wouldn't feel so squeamish about. It really depends on the person and what they put into the game, what they're like. For me, while I love my husband dearly, finding him playing my toon would be like coming home to find him dancing around on the bed in my underwear singing ABBA tunes. :smiley-surprised:

I read through Tink's whole thread and that is...wow. I love that whole "we're not sure, so instead of taking extra measures to verify the proper account owner, not to mention fixing our mistake, we'll just ban the account. Happy trails, Citizen!"

My favorite part, though, is how they always ask if there's anything else they can do for you. What, on top of the nothing you just did? No thanks, I wouldn't want to be the one to subject you to crippling fingercramps typing unfamiliar and foreign things like "yes" and "I can do that."

It would make my EQ2 life to find someone got in there and changed their little macro to "Is there anything else I can do TO you today?"

1 person has my info, aside from myself and it'll stay that way. No point in disclosing how many I have as it's not necessary, but out of respect for the person's account that I am playing, I don't converse in any channel while on that character.
