I just can't do it.
While it certainly has its advantages, quest updates while slumbering, needed class being used in a raid, getting a little experience boost...
My husband has me log in and play his character all the time. I did it far more when he played EQ1. "Hey, I've got to run to the store. Sit here and play my monk. If anything drops that I can use, roll on it." @_@
Nope. Not me though. Not that my guild ever would, but I'm glad they've never asked for my account info. (I'm a wizard, and hence, easily replaced in a raid.)
As I was heading to bed, my husband asked me for my password. He wanted to use Korina to gray out a zone for him.
I looked at him with a look that said, "You want my WHAT?!"
No way. I don't want him on my computer, not with my password, not running my character around. If I have to leave a group, I'll just leave. If I can't make it somewhere, I'll see you another day.
What if someone sends me a tell? What if something happens that I should respond to?
I don't even go afk on Korina for more than 10 minutes at a time. I can't imagine Korina ignoring a potential customer, or being unresponsive to a friend.
Not to mention the messiness when things go sour. Once, someone in our guild awoke to find her character stripped of gear and money. The culprit was a person she allowed to play her healer at a raid. @_@
If you see Korina online, trust, it's the real deal.

its your fucking husband for christs sake. why do you care more about people in-game than you REAL LIFE husband?
Trust is built both ways. If you expect him to trust you, trust him back.

Re: Account Sharing
could never do it, personally. my avatars in game are as much as my personality in RL, so having someone else "play" me, (regardless of who) is not me. waking up and finding something on me or a quest completed i didn't earn myself would be tantamount to identity theft IMHO. to me it's like a virtual rape. imma man, imma nice man, never raped personally, never would, but if if i woke up and found my toon fucked with i would fuck up whoever fucked with my toon. to me it's a matter of prinicple. besides, who would ever want to play my monk, as apparently they are gimp anyways?

Re: Account Sharing
I think it's just the person who's account it is. Some people like we have heard here will never give there info out for what ever reason and I respect that. It's your choice.
I personally don't have a problem with it at all. There are a lot of people who have access to my account and I don't care because it's been the same people who have access to my account for the last year. I would rather have someone play me if I'm not on and we are missing a templar then let the other guild have a contested mob.
I also have no problem logging in people for updates, loot what ever the case is or even boxing toons if needed for raids or quests. I have logged in many people and honestly I always write there stuff down to log them in and a week later I miss place the info because the wife cleaned or something. I can think of three accounts I have access to at all times and 2 of them are mine and one is a real life friend so it's really not a big deal.
If someone deleted my pretty gnome it wouldn't be the end of the world honestly. I think half the people in EC would rejoice that we have one less gnome in the guild. (stops and thinks about what he writes, now someone is going to delete my toon since I said it was ok........yea you know who you are and don't even think about it lol)

on the other hand Account Sharing is probably not a good idea in the sense of assuming what somone is capable of when really pissed off is probably something we could be incorect about ....
so..therefore..before you give your info to somone close, do something REALLY bad to them and see if they become angry enough to destroy something close to you ;)
or just keep your info safe lol

I'd betray him instead of deleting and remaking him, and make sure to equip him out with l33t app4s.

Re: Account Sharing
Some people have invested much more of themselves into the community than others. Has little do to with pixels and much to do with emotional attachments and identity.
Some people look at their toons as a bunch of pixels, others their avatar. Just a different state of mind...those same people would probably not feel good about selling their toon on station exchange when they're done with the game, while others wouldn't give it a second thought.
