In some cases, it does turn out really bad with someone else having your password. I've heard some pretty bad horror stories with that, however for me, I don't openly broadcast my password information either. I like my toons, and I would be sad if something malicious was done to them. On the other hand, a few of my close friends do have the password to Sapphyre, in the case that my guild needs her when I can't be there. Ya just have to trust those that hold that information.

wow lame, of course i shared my account with people I knew to be trustworthy. i wouldn't give my info to some dumbass.


I think I have had access to 30+ accounts over the eq2 timespan, never would think to do anything devious of the sort.

A couple of people have my account info. I mean, wtf? It's just a game. Something happens to this toon, make another. It's the journey thats fun, not the end result. Unless your like someone else I know and just buy your level 70's. Whatever floats your boat.

Like someone mentioned earlier it is against the EULA to share your account info (except with members of your household). While I don't really give a flying poop I also really don't think it's wise to publically broadcast that you give other people your account info, especially if you are currently in beta.

Ok, Kendricke. If you are going to quote the EULA, at least get it right. You cannot share accounts period. People in the same household can't both play on the same account. A parent has to sign up a minor so they technically own the account. The parent, however, can't play a toon on that same account.

The EULA is not a gospel, despite what some might think. It is a broad legal agreement designed to protect SoE.

I have access to my gf's account and she has access to mine, no biggie in my eyes. Even if things were to go sour for us which I couldn't possibly imagine I doubt it would matter about our gaming accounts. However, because we've been together for a long time and even have a house together, as well as share other financial responsibilities....that part could get ugly. It took me four years of us being together before I would give her access to some of my account info but I did this because of being able to take care of herself and the kid if something bad happened to me. My ex-husband burned me so bad, I never thought I'd ever allow this kind of trust but it's possible. And while it used to worry me, I don't anymore.

Through the years of EQ1 and EQ2 I've had several friends log in info and I've shared mine for flag updates, quest updates, or the need of my class at times. It never really bothered me and still doesn't, I have nothing to hide about my online activities :D

Hehe - I remember our brigand and warlock (luu and syll??) swapped accounts for a while back in the day on toxx. The warlock hadn't burnt his one time SOGA remodel. When he logged back to his own toon he was the proud owner of a bald gnome - CS didnt give him his hair back either, /showhood ftw!

I usually just give out my info temporarily. I'll change the password and give it out for a specific purpose, and then change it back once the occasion has passed (quest finished, mob killed, etc.). I was boxed through most of the Claymore quest series.
