My problem is this.

I am, as Hartsman said, in the 1% of 1% percentile of the game. So I really tried to bite my tongue because I honestly dont understand what people who dont raid do with 75% of the rest of their time.

So when I heard questions like the following I tried to be objective but some of these things that came up were so blatantly obvious it just annoyed the hell out of me...

"Why won't exiles get X benefit that the other pvpers will get?" or one of my favorites "What are the chances of carpenters getting imbued recipes for example change the tint of a lamp?" or even better "Why do there have to be rare shinies? They cost too much on the broker." (this topic was about 10 minutes of a panel, with people chiming on ways to make the shiny system better... I wanted to shake a baby and punch them all in the throat).

I really dont want to rate a retard if the majority of people really give a shit about this stuff but I just dont see how they can.

I have 3 70 crafters. I make shit for guildies thats about it. Domino has been the best thing for crafting in this game, I just wish she would have had her own panel so they didnt have to waste my fucking time. Same goes for the PVP nubs.

That was the worst 15-20 minutes of the only two panels I attended. I cant recall the question, but holy fuck the answer was like 15 minutes long and the entire room was about to drop dead from boredom.

They really shouldve had a panel just for tradeskilling.

I'd like to see a panel for hardcore EQ2 raiders at the next Fan Faire. I think the turnout for that panel would be equal or greater than the futures panel, and would dispel any misconceptions about our minority presence in this game.

That 1% of 1% is complete and utter bullshit and they know it, its just a number they can throw around to the ignorant fucks of the game world.

How much buzz, how many debates, and how much free promotion does SOE get from this 1% of 1%? (wich isnt by any means an exact number). How many players out there do not fall into this segment of the population but enjoy seeing what that group of players do, what items they get, things they like and dislike about the game? How many of those players also someday dream of having what so and so has for whatever slot?

I quit eq1 when DAOC came out, then I quit DAOC but had no plans of returning to eq1 ever. I still enjoyed reading the websites of the various guilds out there. One particular update about the changing of how charm could be used in the zone of Kael Drakkel to fuck over LoS/SoS on the nameless server by a guy named Tigole really appealed to me. I was never a high end raider, hell I never even raided, but I fired up my eq1 account for the next 2 years simply because I wanted to see what he was ranting about at some point in time. There are many people out there in the same situation that I once was, so dont give me this 1% of 1% bullshit.

Hell, lets even say its 1% of 1% of 1%, a number so small it cant be calculated, but you know what? That segment of the population is responsible for more of the conversation and word of mouth for this game than all the others, and there is no denying that. To force those players out is completely and utterly retarded.
