wow 10 pages of "oh the sky is falling" to "most welcome.

so i'd like to add my 2cp too here, mainly about the brigand class:

every Combart Art we have (apart from 4 [5 if you dont take the AA], + 1 ranged) have a debuff effect on it, so what would happen if they would merge those spells with same duration? is it then less CA dps for us? or like a 1 hit wonder + massive debuffs = instant aggro? also how would Amazing Reflexes be of any use then, as Smashing Buttons = procs AR for us (yes i know at this point many will say AoE immunity = overpowered etc... but it is still an Ancient Teaching which makes our class unique). or will they merge the debuffs all to 1 or 2 buttons, the damage types to another 2 or 3, which will hit for 5k+ then? i also like the prioritizing of the debuffs, which to cast first, which ones last, that makes the difference between a good player and a bad one, finding a cast order where you can constantly hit a button, to proc AR, to dps, have a lot less downtime where you only autoattack.

in the end we have to see the stuff in beta/on testserver and see how it works out. im also one of the few ppl who still think soe can do it right, will see....

It's simple, if they want to consolidate buffs to 1 button, fine. Trying to do the same to spells, debuffs and CA's this late in the game is fucking retarded.

If I see a fucking cross hair like I did in SWG after the NGE I am done with all sony games ever...LOL

my only concern would be how they handle bard buffs.
there are situations for most of them, and to consolidate several into one buff could hinder my ability to optimize my buff setup.... unless they consolidate them and the consolidated buff still only takes one concentration slot, which would actually allow for more potent buffing.

If i wasnt wearing my trusty tin foil hat I would swear LFG is on the pay roll.

Sony Emp: LFG we want you to post this on your site and put it in the best light you can.

LFG: Can we still link to my site from eq2 forums?

Sony Emp: Yes, yes listen man this is a big change and people are going to be upset. We want you to try and calm the masses and say its good.

LFG: Can I still sell T shirts on Cafe Press?

Sony Emp: God Damnit are you retarded? Yes SELL your fucking T shirts. Just make sure you post that you are on board with these changes thats all we want. Explain how good they are and DO NOT tell them how it will work.

LFG: Ok got it.

Sony Emp: Make sure you dont tell them anything about how it will work OK? Thats important as we will be taking down the Dev tracker as soon as we post this.

i think lfg is only looking at from one view point

not being able to pick what you can cast is stupid and that alone might make some who plays a class for the group they are in might make them want to leave

now if they change all of the single target buffs to group buffs
that is a different story

Default Re: Spell consolidation

I'll have to see it. My complaints as it is now are situational:

If my bruiser dies, I have to wait 60 seconds to recast Rabid Cry. Thats dumb. Let me recast it right after I die.

My warden takes a long time to buff. Dont consolidate the buffs, make their cast times 1 second each, tops, with 1 second refresh, so I can cast multiple buffs, including SoW, quickly.

Other than the time it takes to cast them, its working fine.

But yeah, some things/classes just wont work with this new method as described. Hopefully they will listen and we can actually see the evolution of this during beta.

Please, because I come along and think one thing is a good idea and in the best interest of the game, and prefer that system as a player, is far from me selling out and being on their payroll lol. I'm not, I'm just an independent player with my own opinions.

Also, our Cafepress site has nothing to do with SoE, nothing on that site uses any of their trademarked or copyrighted images or text. And the reason we are allowed to be linked from the Official Forums now relates to a more open mind toward the type of players we are, as businesspeople, they understand we are good for business.

There is no payola or bias here at all. I like the proposed spell consolidation changes for the reasons I've written out in detail, because I believe they make me as a player and this game better off in total.

That's it. Check out many of my other posts, I far from agree with everything SoE does, and I've been as harshly critical of many of their past actions as people like Ishbu has.

I think the bottom line in all this is that my road to hell has always been paved with good intentions. What's most important to me is to try and be fair and unbiased and just state my opinions based on reasonably accurate information and my experience as a player. Sometimes I come out pro-SoE when I think that is the right thing to do, other times I oppose what they do. But just because I strongly support a thing or two that they are planning on hardly makes me a sell out. You probably need a greater number of examples other than just this one to make that claim.
