Re: Spell consolidation
Considering the dev's creating these huge new zones for KOS didn't even THINK about druid and wizard ports, I don't hold out much hope that the devs in charge of this consolodation even thought about concentration slots. I sincerely hope I am wrong.

Congrats. They've managed to make an easy game even easier.

there's nothing hard about it now. this just means less buttons to push, which quite frankly, doesn't make it any easier. there's never been any skill involved. you just have to fucking pay attention.

Re: Spell consolidation
There's classes where dps, buff setups, and versatility are based on their different spells being different spells in part. I can't see how changing that can be a good thing.
Do healers really want *less* to do?

After the cure changes they prolly do.
I'm just tired of the "The sky is falling!!" attitude when we don't even know much about the coming changes. So far i've read about them merging priest buffs which just shortens the time it takes for priests to rebuff after wipes.
The debuff thing sounds meh but I don't see it as game-breaking. We'll see how it turns out. I'm one of the very few who think SOE is actually doing a fairly good job and we're busy whining about an essentially great game.
And if the changes really, really do suck... then i'll just go play Vanguard for a day or 2 to get things back into perspective. It can't suck THAT much.

Except, not every priest runs all their buffs, so combining them into 1 buff has a negative re-action already based on that fact. Inquisitors in a DPS group barely ever run all their buffs, same with both Druids.

Damn good point that.
Guess we'll have to see how they handle concentration slots then. If the merged buff only uses up one conc slot i don't see a problem. Cause if you were using one of the original buffs anyway the conc slot was taken before as well. And if you weren't... where's the problem?
So if the new merged buff really only uses 1 conc slot we'll all be a bit overpowered compared to the current state. But hell, that just means they'll have to adjust the difficulty of t8 content to that.
I'm pretty sure they'll get that balancing done perfectly.... about 7 months after expansion release.

I hardly see how forgetting a fluff type spell can be used in any way to predict how they would do this. Ports, while useful, are not integral to the game.On the other hand, when the lead spell designer checks your forums and complaints about a spell in beta and says something to the effect of "You shouldn't have that", yeah, that's cause for worry.

I'm not as familiar with conc slots per class as Pinski but for the classes I do play, they affect Bards and chanters the most. At for most other classes I play/know of, they are near negligible. I'm wondering at this point if the mechanic itself isn't due for a serious revamp or removal.

You aren't a priest don't talk for us please(cure changes did nothing), there is just enough for us to do as it is and they want to reduce that? AKA something I am not fond of personally the sky is falling is not my attitude, I will wait till it hits test before I pass final judgment but I'm weary of this idea.
