The whole idea of buff consolidation is dumb. If the devs are worried about it taking 20s to rebuff then make group buffs insta cast time instead of consolidating them.

Half the fun in this game is knowing when your abilities are going to refresh and prioritizing them. Having a lot of choices is good. I actually wish I had another 5 damage abilities so prioritizing would be even more important.
If this change happens, the remaining 10 troubadors worldwide will likely quit.

No way. There has to be at least 10 per server (Except maybe Crushbone. They'll be filling in those spots with monk buffs when they become raid wide).

this is exactly what i am worried about as a troub =/, not about the overpowered part, good all good that, might even use buffs that i would never use before cause they are a waste of a concentration slot (read resist (usually)/defense?/ror/etc) but imagine this

ur happily soloing a named like good troubies normally do, ya try to debuff, the normal stuff, zanders/strength/whatever but hey its combined with kians now, yay even less damage between mezzes and nukes now cause dots + mez = bad

besides that, hmm not sure what to think off it, but knowing how soe fucked over bards the last 3 expansions i have little confidence in them

the future of bards:
Step1. press one button to buff
Step2. press one button to debuff
Step3. press one button to do ur spells
Step4. press one button to do ur combat arts
Step5. press one button to do ur ranged combat arts
Step6. Press one button to do ur afk macro to wait for refresh
step7. After refresh go back to step 3, if debuffs are gone go back to step 2

curious too besides the low expectation of the 21386438963 combat revamp, any news from the new spells/combat arts yet?

Hopefully, they can use this to make things MORE complex, not less. Less button time=more in-combat movement? more interaction with objects in the world (see the Magtheridon fight in WoW)?

We can only hope.

Hopefully if they go the WoW route of making the environment in which you fight important, they clean up the clunky in combat movement system/animation.

I really don't want to waddle heroicly around like a cripple for an entire expansion.

That would be nice, and also hopefully take some of the mindless focus off zonewides, maybe make burst damage a priority over EXT. Big leap from their current design direction... guess we'll have to see. Sorta pointless to keep hammering it into the ground before we get the rest of the details though. I think we've made the point that people are concerned about it :P

Default Re: Spell consolidation

So if I want to selectively debuff..I lose this ability?

For example, as a Defiler I may group ward, cast 2 debuffs, then throw up a single target ward (while group ward refreshes) then complete my debuff pattern, group ward, throw out the dps based dot debuffs then monitor my wards and debuffs/dots/cures and cast as necessary.

At any point I can interrupt one dps or dbuff to get in a ward or heal for spike damage, AoE etc..

So theoretically with the change if I purposely stop casting a certian debuff (to counter something else, say the need to cast a group nox cure) then do any of those debuffs land?

Right now, as a healer. I don't like the perceived intent of this change.

The thing I like best about this change is having all four single target cures reduced to one spell. Yay, 4 cure keys combined into one.
