Hmmm, I notice the prices of the ancient teachings and L67-70 masters are falling quite a bit on my server (Splitpaw). I guess this is because of the recent interview with the EQ2 mechanics lead who said the 14 level CA system is being replaced with a 10 level cycle and less CAs.

Anyone else seeing this on their servers? My main has all the ancient teachings and T7 masters, but it's certainly getting much harder to sell now.

Some people still seem to be farming PP but that's getting a pretty poor way to make plat now.

Will be interesting to see how other economics go, like the price of a T8 rare loam in week 1 of release

Well also normally the higher 65+ spell seem to be the one that are more likely to drop than the 60-65

Right now prices for masters on Oasis and id imagine all servers are like this
Most expensive to least expensive
Ancient Teachings(52, 55, 58)
T6 Masters + lvl 70 Masters (57-60, 70)
Low end t7 masters(61-64)
Mid t7 masters(new 65 spells)
High end t7 masters(66-69)

I farm a lot to make money for RoK so ive seen plenty of each.

I think alot of people have stopped buying masters unless they stumble upon a good deal. I know I have. I still check daily, but unless something jumps out at me, I probably won't buy it. Just not worth 25p+ to me for some of those masters when they get replaced in just a couple of months now. I'm saving my plat for the expansion when the gouging begins again!

Someone who attended the Fan Fair siad that ALL spells/abilities will be upgraded in 71-80. All Ancient Teachings (lv 52,54, 58, 65) that are applicable to T8 weakness will be reveiwed and Upgraded. All classes will get a Special Spell/CA at lv 80.

This was posted on the official boards, but im to lazy to go find it. LOL

IF this is true, all >70 Masters are useless.

Yep. they are just shifting the spells to the teir system as everything else in game was. Prolly too many people complaining that they couldn't get their t6 masters on their t7 char that still used the t6 spells. Makes a lot of sence actaully.

The only info I have seen so far is a guy that heard someone say that this was happening. Do we have any official posts that they are changing to a 10 level cycle? And I heard nothing even close to official about less CA's, there is a spell consolidation thread, but that specificly says some buffs and debuffs.

In the long term, we are busy working on finalizing spells for the next expansion. Unlike in the past we will not be following the "14 level rule" (whereby you only see spell upgrades every 14 levels).
Expect most of your spells to get upgraded in the expansion, along with the addition of a new spell for each subclass.
Another project that we are working on is to analyze how spells are currently used. It's often the case that many classes end up literally spamming buttons for the duration of combat. We are looking into ways to reduce the feeling that you must always be pressing a button to contribute to the group or raid, and to make individual ability presses feel satisfyingly powerful.
