As long as the downtime was done in the early morning (when hardly anyone is on anyway) and was only for 15 mins then id be all for it.

But you can guarantee that SoE would have them coming down during the middle of the evenings play and their 15 mins would turn into 3 hours like usual.

a server reset has never taken 3 hours.

Never put anything past SoE.

Ive lost count of the times they say they are dropping the servers for 30 mins and 5 hours later they are still down.

Id wonder how a 30 min job can turn into a 5 hour job on a regular basis but it seems to. A server reset should only take 15 mins but you can guarantee that someone will balls something up and it will be down for hours. As you may have guessed my fairth in SoE tech guys is a bit jaded.

that only happens when they're updating something.
they used to restart the servers every morning, and it never took more than 15 unless they were patching something.

If someone can't handle not playing for 15 minutes no matter what time during their game play it is they have far deeper seeded issues than lag.

It makes the game not fun. It makes it harder to play. It makes it near impossible to tell if you are improving.

When I go to pull adds out on an avatar with an ae and it finishes casting and they suddenly aren't in range that is fucked.

When I use knockout combination where I can normally get 15-20 cas off and I get 5 that is fucked.

When I lose hundreds of dps on my zonewide when the only thing that changed was lag that is fucked.

People will put up with a lot of bullshit but lag is getting real fucking old.

Reset the servers, give the hamster some coke, find a coder worth a fuck. Whatever you gotta do fix it.

I'd rather they fixed the lag than bandaid solution it via server resets.

We all would like that, but until they can figure out what exactly is causing the lag, wouldn't it be great if we got a simple band-aid solution until then?

The best was when I used Destruction in the Throne room, and out the 12 triggers I get, 7 were left when the timer ran out...
