Default Best surviving class

Hi, I'm new to the forums, and actually I feel like I'm new to EQ2 too. I played the game on the release, for 3 months, and then I decided to wait until it got a little bit improved. As things went, I forgot about the game until now, and now I'm willing to play again but I've found myself in a very very different game, so that's why I'm seeking advice.

About my question: in general, in MMORPG's, I love to explore. I go alone, and I try to visit every inch of the game, of every dungeon and every zone... and normally at very early levels. Therefore, I'm looking for a class that is good at soloing, but specially at surviving: I mean, I dont need to kill the mobs. I just want to avoid them killing me.

For example, the wardens and the furies have a great movement speed enhance in the EoF tree, and that's nice, cause as long as mobs cant catch me, I will be alive. Necros have pet, invisibility and feign death, etc etc...
Just tell me which would be, in your opinion, the best class for survival, remembering that I might face mobs much above my level.

Thanks!

What Khalan said. Particularly Monk IMO, you can get 70% sprint speed (65% with Enhance: Sprint, +5% from KoS achievement tree), have an invis ability, and have Tsunami (100% ripostes/parries for a X seconds depending on quality of the ability).

err... could you explain a little, please? I mean, this way I can understand all the different opinions and choose the one that suits better for me.

edit: oh thx, when I wrote you had not explained yet ^^

Btw, the sprint is good, but wouldnt it be better a constant running speed such as druid's one? Cause you will eventually run out of the sprint, but you will hardly run out of mobs...

When you're out of sprint, you feign death and the problem is solved.

Feign Death is really the only good way to train through stuff in this game, unless you're trying to get to a zoneline (almost everything is aggro... kinda defeats the point of the mechanic). Otherwise, even if you can run fast as hell, you're just gonna keep getting more things chasing you.... stuff does reset after a little while but it's not some uber-short range. The non-brawler classes (brawler being Monk and Bruiser) that do get FD get it with a 5min recast as opposed to 10sec, which makes it still useful for not dying, but basically worthless for training around through places.

I see... well, then it really looks like I should get a brawler. Any recommendation between Bruiser and Monk? Always keeping in mind the only purpose of surviving...

Oh, and btw, I'm going to buy the 3 expansions but I dont have them yet, and until then, is there any place where I can see the AA's abilities and trees? Specially for the bruiser and monk?

Survival - Bruisers and monks.

Since monk was covered(and i dont know much about them myself). Ill cover bruisers.

First off, feign death. You can travel through raid zones even although at a slower pace just flopping from one spot to another, although feign death is not guarenteed success. Level 70 mastered version gets you 97% succes.

Second, Close mind. Say your training through a zone and get stunned/stifled, you cant hit feign death cuz you are stunned/stifled. You use close mind(You gain immunity to stun, stifle, fear, daze, mesmerize and root effects for 30seconds at master I - level 58 Ancient teachings spell)

Third, Tenacious Will. You can cancel different stuns/stifles/dots etc as long as its physical, mental, magic or divine.

Fourth, Stone Deaf. Say you have to run through a bunch of caster mobs that nuke for craploads, hit this first and youll absorb the first 3 that are greater than 10% of your max health(just a general example, youll have much more hp when you gain this spell. You have 1000 hp, a mob nukes you for 150. It will be absorbed since its over 10% of your max health. However any lower and youll take the hit, but it wont consume one of your 3 absorbs of course.

Fifth, Ignore Agony. Simple... Self heal. With max specs on it and Master 1 you can heal yourself for 44.6-52.2% of your max health.

These are all great for soloing/getting places, and surviving on raids.

Survivability is one of my faves with my monk. Since I do a large amount of running around in game to gather info for work, being able to get into places, run through mobs that I can't kill, etc is important.
