True. I did some numbers on paper and with equal crit/haste aa mods, buckler is better. Once you deviate and build one with more Haste than the other, it makes a huge difference.

Dual wield has been giving me a pretty consistent 2-3k parse on trash in EH now that my dirge has the CoB set bonus.

Using Gladius and vilucidaes with Str448+Sta8(I <3 hps)+Int47482. I'm wondering how much better it would be with two decent 4 delay weapons instead of my gimped ones but my scouts would literally kill me if I ninja'd some :P

yeah Sar since we dont kill avatar's and havent cleared all of EoF i dont have a awesome two hander like chirat or such and i find DW on some occasions to do more then my buckler spec...but thats when im not being drunk/lazy

Yea I guess I suck but I can't parse consistently as well with buckler as I can with dual wield now

I saw a comment or two about mashing CA's with buckler spec.

I think thats completely wrong. A good chunk of your dps comes from your autoattack.

I only have legendary SoD, and i use a crappy buckler [still waiting for Howler to drop ]
but i can do between 1.2k-1.9k [closer to 1.2k without dirge]

But the way i work it is, i do /weapon to see what my adjusted attack speed is on my wep, and then i time it, if its roughly 2seconds+ then i queue 2 combat arts, let them execute, then wait a split second to let my autoattack hit, then queue two more... thats withouy any attack speed buffs

But! when im MT, my delay is significantly lower, so i only use one CA at a time, before letting auto attack go off, then i hit another CA. Thats how it works best for me, dunno about anyone else.

[P.S.: Buckler = 60% Double attack for ur auto attack, thts huge, and another 9% from Guardian tree, and then 3% from Strongbear bonus effects [for 3 pieces] when i dont need my best gear on]]

This is a bit of a necropost so sorry, but...

I've tried 2H (Chirat) with Dirge/Illu/Warden/Defiler/Templar versus 1h+buckler (GBH/Howler) with Dirge/Coercer/Defiler/Templar/Swash.

On Othysis with 2H setup last night I parsed 2900 pure single target. This compares to about 2000 with a buckler. With IA + Dirge it's 44% double attack; wearing a lot of DPS mod gear (underworld plates, calcified spaulders, crafted ring) makes up for dropping the Coercer. Obviously if you spec Agi instead of Sta group DPS flies through the roof with a 2H, so aggro becomes trivial.

If I could run that group setup every night I'd absolutely go Str/Agi/Int and just use a tower shield on named. But if you use Coercer instead of Illu 2H loses a lot of its appeal, making it an awkward decision.

Well, here's my question, I'm pretty effective at timing my CA's. I'm backup MT and asides from not having fortissimo because our primary MT makes all bards spec for bladedance I'm pretty offensively buffed in the Mt group. I seem to hit a ceiling at about 1850dps. Now that usually places me anywhere from 3-4th on our raid parses. We only average 20kzw though, and I won't get into the intricacies of people doing their jobs (dps) in my guild. But if the raid dps is @ 25k am I about where I should/can be?

I had a coercer in my group for the past two years of raiding. About a month ago my coercer eventually quit and I decided instead of getting another - I would just go with an illusionist. TC on one of my mt healers does insane amounts. Illusionary Arm going on the swashbuckler. I just get haste. Personally I Think my dps suffered a little bit. It helped the swashbuckler tho.

I also don't have calcified spaulders. We've only had 3 drop ever and I always let the other tanks have them.

With that said I can easily do 3.5k on Othysis. If you really want to see some fucking dps I can do 4k-4.5k on it with Illusionary Arm =)

Also the reason why you parsed higher on Othysis is due to your AoE. I assume you had Cyclone. Making you hit all those mobs. It's so easy to inflate your parse on that.
