Agi end-line ability
Hey,
I've noticed that quite a few MT guardians are going with the 100% parry/block AE ability in the AGI line. A few months ago, I was this line as well and it worked decently for trying to survive past a spike. But, correct me if I'm wrong, does the AE block even work if you're tanking?
When do you use this ability and how is it better than some of the other abilities you could get.
Also, did they make the parry able to be canceled yet?

- No, its an AE avoid unless direct, aka the AEing mob is targeting you.

- Its now on a 3min recast, and blocks AEs. Since AGI line is quite viable for the 40% AE autoattack. This AA is also quite nice for those "oh shit" situations.

- No, and the 12s recovery time is still incredibly lame. 12s stifle or stun would be more practical, but this was a lame way to code the effect to make it the least exploitable (via sancturary/potions). Last time i read the effect, it alluded to only CA's being stopped by Dragoon reflexs, not Auto-attack, thus stifle would be ideal. But its going on two years now so i doubt it will be changed.

Re: Agi end-line ability
So if that is the case and it DOES NOT block the AE if it's direct then why would a MT guardian ever use it since the mob is going to target him and thus the AE not blocked?
Am I missing something? Sry to sound so newb but it's how I read the ability and havn't seen it in practice with my own eyes.
I could see it being really nice for that last Nature's Fury on Woushi or a drain life on PHH if it blocked the AE from the raid and I took the damage?

Re: Agi end-line ability
You get spiked in the red, your healers are stunned/stiffled, or you got knocked back by an avatar b/c your a dumbass and got in a bad position, what happens? You die...or you use reflexes and its your version of a 12s tsunami, but with more ill side effects. Yes, AOEs still hit you, but its 12s of no melee dmg coming in. It's an amazing ability.

Re: Agi end-line ability
The AE avoid portion is useful for OT guardians, and for mem blur mobs that havea mean AE.
Of course in 95% of the cases as the MT you wont utilize the AE avoid portion, but its still a 12s tsunami.
You can also put unyeilding vigilance on another tank (if you dont have agro or whatever) then hit Dragoon reflexes, you'll parry 50-60% of the attacks coming at him. Thus being good for the groups of five epic mobs in TTR, since with pacifism agro is sometimes flakey.

Re: Agi end-line ability
I personally love the spell and I rock it. I don't use it often but it saves my ass atleast twice a week. Worth having - especially if you already want the 40% cyclone.

Re: Agi end-line ability
K, That's about what I figured you guys were using it for. I personally hated the 12 stun while my raid was raping the mob so I rarely used it unless it was a woushi/avatar fight. Thanks for the responses. Still STA+STR spec here atm.

Wow thats an awesome use. Does the same thing occur if you hit block ability with unyielding vigilance on someone? that would be another 15 seconds of massive avoidance. This gives me some cool ideas i want to try out with my offtank thanks for sharing

Re: Agi end-line ability
Previously, Yes.
However that was nerfed a few days after it was noticed. Now Block will go down once you block for your current target.
Bards were casting their block buff on the cleric, whom would auto-block almost all attacks against me for the duration (20s i think) of the bard buff. That lasted about one night before it was nerfed :P
To UGAdawg, I'll announce in vent when i'm using it, if i have to use it. Just tell people to be a bit wary of agro for 12-15s. Usually does the trick.
