I had more then a few guards ask about how to get
double attack , block , and cripple, and still put a few points into rescue and reinforcments. I thought it to be obvious or common knowledge, but i may have thought wrong

im slowly gettin tired of sending tells of what to take so u can get all three ,( not that i dont mind sharing or helping folks , im just hate typing stuff repeativly) so ill just post info here and hope its helps those that do not know or are curious as to what others may be using.

it isnt a reccomendation of any sort of what to take ...
i do use it myself ...
but what works for me , may not work for u

5 trespass
5 head trama
5 retalitory strike
5 decimate
Cripple

5 fortify
3 wall of armor
5 sentinal sphere
2 unyielding will (b/c it links in and u get it from your head trama line)
5 tower of stone
Block

5 overmatch
5 infraction
5 mar
5 lay waste
Double Attack

3 rescue
4 reinforcment


only down part is not maxing out rescue or reinforcment ,

for me not maxing out those to isnt a issue
with my current gear and current AA set up
rescue reuse is 7:26 and reinforcment reuse is 1:31

Only missing 1 in reinforcement is not that huge if you only were able to spend 1 or 2 in there then maybe. I just really want to know is cripple noticeable. Do we really get riposted that much I have a real hard time telling if that AA will make a earth shattering difference in me living.

well , i wouldn't say earth shattering

it clearly isnt as usefull as block that for sure ...

i do not know the clear cut number of times per encounter that we get reposted , but i do know it does work and has saved me a few times now and then ...
i sure that X mobs repost more then some Y mobs, so it would be a tad bit benificial on some encounters then others ...

the best way to see its working is, it pops up a 5 second icon in the maintained spell window , if the icon just falls off or the timer just runs down obviously u didnt get reposted durning that time period and it didnt do anything for u, if the icon disappears before the 5 second icon runs down then the skill was used. if your check the hit u just took u can do the math easy and figure out how much damage u saved.

that being said, it isnt earth shattering , but it has save me a few time from dying on a few trash and boss mob that i have noticed, but when raiding i dont always focus on if that is working, im normally watching other shit. so i would venture to guess it has helped me more then i have noticed.


summing it up:

1. saved me a few times that i have noticed , prolly more that i havent noticed

2. not nearly as good as block

3. not earth shattering

4. to me the aa points seems better spent there then other choices we are given with my current set up

5. Cripple falls under the area of ( every little bit helps )

True I just wasnt quite sure how much damage we get riposted for. I know its less then their normal hits but if it gets toned down enough that does give us more hps left or heals available for those massive shots these mobs are throwing out. Will give it a shot and see how it goes.

Well just for reference, i checked a few different VP runs. Silverwing had about 65-75 ripostes each fight and phara was slightly less. Seems like it could be decent.

For what you lose in getting it, I'd say it's worth it... *shrug* Maybe it's just me, but I haven't gotten to a point yet where I've scrambled to use reinforcement or rescue or the raid dies... That of course, is subject to change, but I'd take less riposte dmg for that.

I'd say it depends on how you are specced elsewhere as if you're like me and despise the buckler line and use a 6 delay weapon then you are not seeing more than a couple of ripostes in a 10minute fight sometimes. double attack is over-rated imo especially with the annoying bullshit reactive stuns/fears/dmg and what not.

Assuming you did the search for ripostes like i did the search for ripostes.

Thats 65-75 ripostes across the entire raid, not against you. I havent read the wording on cripple recently, does it reduce the damage of ripostes in general, or ripostes against you?

No if you check the avoidance report for the mob, then click on the riposte it tells who he riposte'd.
