Tanking the Overking
When tanking the Overking in Kor Sha, as the MT do you assist with tanking the adds? Or is that strictly the off-tanks job? Also people say to maximize the pull distance, any particular reason? Are there any particular detrimental effects to watch for? I seemed to take hits fine from the Overking and lasted about 1 minute before the Adds killed the raid force... Any suggestions?

Do more DPS on the adds, and absolutely you should not be touching them, why would you want to? They are heroic, a scout can tank them if you want.

Re: Tanking the Overking
You have recapture, and there are adds. Target the adds when they spawn hit recapture, go back to tanking Overking.

Re: Tanking the Overking
Or just dont change targets, toss blue AE's. Cycle the mit buff with pin and your blue root. The adds spawn at just the right rate for your blues to be up, you only need to have agro for the first couple seconds before all the mobs die.

Re: Tanking the Overking
We had one attempt on the mob after we killed Kodux & Zarda, because more than one critical player had to leave the raid due to the time. But those adds caught us off guard.
Now when facing the Overking to the right against the wall is where we pulled, back where that little crevis was. When I'm back there I am not near the adds when they spawn. This could of been the problem, like I said we only had one pull. In the future we'll have more, but the way it sounds is the raid has to burn down the adds, just like we do the cocoons on thugga. Vile Coil ring probably works wonders here so would tendrils.
Now I'm on a PvP server and we don't have access to any of the Qeynos classes, so no sancutary. That's why i'm not asking for a strategy, because our strategies will be different than a blue server. I was just currious if the MT was supposed to help with the adds.
Recapture would work on the adds I suppose, but like I said I wasn't by the adds in that crevis. So I'm guessing I should be where the adds spawn, by where he stands. Also I believe recapture only bumps the fighters up a hate position so if somebody else AEd first other than the fighters recapture wouldn't work.
Skel when I said pull, I ment pull Overking to the crevis. Were still learning and having fun while were at it.

Re: Tanking the Overking
We kill him where he stands, pulling seems unnecessary. This way when the adds pop you can blue right away and it hits them all instead of just half of them.

In fact, pulling seems counter-productive considering the encounter.

Because you don't want to get debuffed/taunted in the second half of the fight if you can avoid it.

Re: Tanking the Overking
We kill the first set of four linked adds and then pull him as far away as possible (right before his break point). It gives the MT healers enough room to get maxdistance on the MT, and never even see any adds that pop. Off tank (SK with vile coil) stands by OK spawn point and him and our mages just own the adds when they pop. scouts burn named.
