When you dont have access to all classes, it's nice to have little perks like that. Believe me when i say I'd rather have all the classes than a poxy 4% block chance.

Agreed lol, for 90% of PVP'ers, even getting into Veeshan's Peak is never going to happen. And with 5 tokens per writ, we need to do 580 Writs (2900 kills with 1160 Class specific kills (ie, Kill a Warden and Coercer etc).

3 down, 577 to go...

Generally out of choice though, not because of the inability to raid - in Q side case, with no Brigands, Assassins, Coercers, Necromancers, Shadowknights, Brawlers, Defilers or Inquisitors...

These pvp set pieces are designed to give factioned only raiding guilds something to do to balance out the disparity of not having all the classes.

Also keeps PvP'ers occupied since raiding skills, abilities, and guilds on PvP servers in comparison to PvE servers pretty much sucks.

Basic simple facts about game mechanics are lost and ignored on the PvP servers on a constant basis. When I ask a warden if he's placing his HoT on the MT and canceling out the MT warden's HoT, and he asks what an HoT is, it makes me die a little inside.

Or when I get a tell mid-raid from someone asking me why I put a fury in the caster group instead of a templar... and the fact that average DPS parse from a lot of players is barely 2k.

Raiding is more difficult due to a less focused, skilled player base, and the factioned only guilds have a huge disadvantage that the exiled guilds don't have. Since exiles can't access this gear, they get to make up some of that disadvantage.

Under the current retarded system of PvP token writs, no one will see any of the 3,5,7 set rewards any time soon.

And Q's think they have it so tough... for fights that require jousting and getting out of ae range, swashies with reach and rangers have a huge advantage over Brigands and Assassins.

Templar is much better than Inquis in MT group. Sure, Inquis CAN do it, in the same way that a Berserker CAN MT, but isn't as suited for it.

I was reluctant to go exile, but now that I have I haven't looked back.

Im currently shooting for the chest piece when I get enough tokens....that is if they ever fix the pathetic 5 token reward for writs.

Why does it seem that only those playing burst dps classes use hacks/exploits for pvp?

I still do not understand the eq2 cold war and why certain classes are not just let into either city. I can see some lore based legacy classes such as necromancer/conjuror maybe but not neccessarily shadowknight/paladin.
But bruiser/monk, illus/coercer, or templar/inqusitor and mystic/defiler should be usable in all city factions.

Have that and make majdul into a real exile (non-qeynos/freeport alligned) city. Doing those things would make pvp smoother. Heck do that and PVE can have a slightly more pronounced cold war.

PvP is far from a cold war. PvP is a full-blown war. no spying, no weapons races... ok, we have weapons races, but we basically kill each other on sight.
