If you can't hold aggro without the sta line, you probably aren't going to hold aggro with it.

You said you haven't been seeing upgrades... most of the tank gear in ROK is also DPS gear. Don't be afraid to lose 2 HP and gain 2 double attack or melee crit or whatever. You didn't say if you were level 80 yet - if you are, you NEED to replace the t7 gear. I don't care what you replace it with, incarnadine if you have to, but replace it.

Drop the Shield of Wurms and use the Shield of Teren Ryiss.
The shield of wurms may show a higher protection value, but being a T7 shield, you actually get less from it then it is showing.

Switching them out should add around 2-3% avoidance to you.

I know this does not help with aggro, but is still something that will help you in the long run.

Are you sure about this, cuz this doesn't make any sense to me. That's like saying a lvl 80 armor piece with 500 mitigation actually provides more mitigation than a lvl 70 piece with 550 mitigation because it's 10 lvls higher.

Don't get me wrong, I think he needs a new shield too... but I think you were misinformed about the way hard equipment stats work.

Actually that is correct. a T8 Lvl 80 item with 500 mit will give you more mit then a t7 with 550 mit. Try it out and you will be suprised. The reason is the level. The lower gear was meant to protect you from lower mobs and SOE has programmed it to be not as effective against higher mobs. The basics of the formula have to do with level of the gear vs level of the mob. Switch some pieces out and you will see the dif immediatly.

and the block scales by lvl on shields.. so that why shield block is so importent. With other words the higher lvl shield you get the more block = more avoidance. Try it out take a t7 shield and check your avoidance with it then take a t8 shield with the same protaction you will see that you get more avoidance on a higher lvl shield!

Totally weird, and needlessly complicated. If this is true, I feel ashamed I didn't know this already.

Is the difference between 70 and 80 significant? Does it differ further between fabled/legendary/treasured gear of the same level? I really need to try this out tonite.

nope... if you have say 1300 protection on a lvl 70 shield is the same even if it was fable/leg/trea

Fable doesent say that its better its only a tag

It has always been this way, everytime they raise the level cap.
Lower Tier armor stops giving the full benefit the higher your level goes above the item's level.

Actually, the fabled/legendary/treasured tag DOES matter. Not for the protection amount, but for the block. For example a legendary buckler will have about 5% base block, but a fabled one will have something like 8% block.

This is wrong. Protection decides the block %, period. Legendary or Fabled, doesn't matter.
