Sadly, Level does matter. There is a penalty for wearing lower level gear than the mob's level. A shield with 1300 protection that is Level 70 will have less block % than a Level 80 shield with 1300 protection. It's just the way it is :\ Even though it shouldn't be.

ok the respec seems to work,i'm going on a low lvl raid later today i'll see how well i can hold agro, what i would like to know is consdiering the stuff i'm currently wearing why is it possibale for me at lvl 70 to solo lvl 80 single regular and herioc 1up and come out of that fight with about 20-30% hp left? If the gear i'm wearing was so bad i should have died on the first single regular lvl 80 mob. I'm lvl 80 know buy the way.

Also i'd like to know why SoE saw fit to make pallys good enough to be mt's for high end raiding, if this kind of stuff keeps up we all will be out of a job, they can go ahead and ban me forever from this site,(which i'm already having trouble logging on because they supposdely don' recgonize the pw) but i think it's a bunch of crap what they did and they realy didn't do anything for guards, very little in the way of spell upgrades, my (moderate) is still a lvl 60ish master along whith the other 2 we use for our healers.

Now don't get me wrong i don't mind working my tale off on quest, doing high end instances to get the better gear but it realy is unfair of them not to treat us as good as they've done the other class's.

I play several DPS classes as well (including a warlock), if the tank I'm with can't hold aggro with me going very close to all out, *they* are slacking. It is the job of DPS classes to do as much DPS as possible, it is not their fault if their gear, spells, etc, are upgraded and the tank's is not. That is one of the reasons tanks carry somewhat of a heavier burden than other classes do... the entire group depends on our gear and spell upgrades.

My only real solid exception to this is if the DPS runs away from me if they do get aggro. If they do that, they fucking die every fight, I don't care and I'm not running after them.
As a wizzy that loves to go all out, i understand your point. I also understand that not all tanks are geared well enough to hold agro from me. What's more, not all tanks have the same raiding oppertunities to get the gear they need. Obviously, they are not my first choice for tanks, but I am not going to call them slackers for what they do not yet have. And if they are friends and need help getting that gear i will be glad to help. If that means i have to hold back the dps to keep from pulling agro and wiping the group, then i will. Everyone in group has to learn to adjust to the play level of the tank, otherwise the group will fail. Yes the tank has a responsability to improve gear and tactics, but other players also have a responsability to understand when they are grouping with someone less fortunate then themselves, and help keep the ballance.

player > class

.. and trust me guards still #1 choice tho... but raids chosoe the BEST tank for the job not the tank who has the guardian class next to their name.

Good points all. Yes i am a lvl80 guard, that raid whent well(although it was t6 i believe,we needed harla'dar and got her to). I did the respec for towershield, but did swap out to other one suggest, swapped out what little bit of different armor i could, all t8 jewerly and have noticed a good jump in dps, i'm seeing from over 1thou to over 3thou on my dps, however i noticed while when soloing i am taking a bit more damage, i always use my shield buffs as soon as there timers come up, but it's a bit more than normal. I've also got a big difference in auto att., dmg.....big change there.

So i should raise agile more or maby stamina?

I'm kinda old school thinking the more dps & the more hp the better, along with a high mit factor, but ya with the new expansion alot of changes, some i wasn't even aware of........LoL.

And i love this site, i've gotten more usefull info than any of the others i've seem......

OK that aa build for tower has helped a lot. Know my other problem is trying to figure out how many ca's i can get off before the auto attack goes off (never was good at math)so here's my weapon stats & haste mod:

Weapon: actual delay: 6.5

Proc.%: 3.4%

Procs per min: 1.7

Haste mod: 21(varys depending on grp buffs)

So how many ca's can i do before auto att.?

After auto att., goes off, how many ca's can i do before the next auto att.?

Last question: i have 2 knock backs that use shield, are they consdidered to be a ca?

Ideally, as many as you you can crank out before your next auto attack. With what you listed above (an actual weapon delay of 6.5) it would go...

AutoAttack --> (as many CA's as you can do in 6.49 seconds) --> Autoattack --> Repeat

As a side question, what weapon are you using that gives you an actual delay of 6.5sec with a 21 haste mod?
