Default Re: Having hard time keeping agro.

Couple more things on gear - I like the Tynonium band of STR over the AGI.

Looks like you have the DPS adorn on the neck. Do you have one on your ranged item? well worth it (yes it affects Melee DPS too). the Bow from one of the faction merchants in JW is nice (forget which one - good HP and +4 parry)

EOF quest reward Ivy Shrouded Earring of Tunare gives +8 DPS. Other stats are low, but I still where mine for the DPS.

Get a haste item. There is a Haste MC cloak in t8, but cloak of Valor is nice and hard to give up. The Deathtoll Access quest gives you a haste Item you can where on wrist or neck. If you can get Blue Shineys, farm Chardock for the Belt of the Di'Zok Warlord, which has haste and Crit I think.

I tank in tower shield all the time and have little problem with hate as long as I have a dirge, unless I get a lot of stuns & stifles, in which case the raid should adjust.

Good call.

Another random side question... Is the NSS the highest delayed one-hander available? I personally find it a little unreliable because the 6s delay is borderline too much imo. Generally speaking, I would think a 4s delay is the best way to go, although I look more at the damage spread for my weapon selection.

Yes my bad i had my bow equipeted. Here's the right one:

actual delay:4.9
proc %; 18.0%
proc's per min: 1.8

accerlation strike is ad3, my melee bonus's are:

dps mod 10
melee crit 30%
melee da 14%
melee ae 35%
haste mod 21
hate mod 6

my current build is: str.5,4,6,5, agi.4,6,7,6,1, Int.4,7,8,3,1

So how many ca's can i get in before the first auto attack goes off and how many ca's might i be able to use in between the auto att?

o for a bow i use skelross posion launcher, also got my second piece for the ravaged set yesterday,(helmet & greaves)

You should get in as many CAs as you can in 4.9 sec. This will vary quite a bit depending on..

1) If you get stunned, stifled, whatever
2) If you use you AoEs, which are longer casting
3) If you get Divine Recover, JCap, or any other casting speed buff

Once again, the idea of timing all your CAs in between auto attack for maximum damage output is generally considered the ideal. However, if your weapon is too fast, or you're not coordinated enough to pull it off, you'll most likely just end up hurting your dps in the long run.

Also keep in mind that we have extremely short casting speeds on our CAs (usually .5 sec). That being said, if you're casting a CA when you should have auto attacked, the worst case scenario is that you auto attack .5 seconds after the fact. In short fights, timing your CAs is more than likely going to be a bigger headache than anything.

Another thing...

This AA build just looks cluster fucked.

STR should really be 4-4-8 now and forever. Don't worry about putting points in the increased hate gain AA (STR4). And max out your melee crit in this line. It's the greatest damage tool you have if you're not speced for buckler.

AGI should be more like 4-4-8-6-1. The damage benefit of increasing the damage on Dragoon Spin isn't worth the AA points needed. And by not maxing out your AE damage to 40%, you're really underutilizing that line.

INT should probably be more like 4-7-8-8-1 for optimum damage/survivability.

This, of course, is all just my opinion. I'm by no means a world class tank so take that for what it's worth, but I really think you're shafting yourself on your AAs.

p.s. Try the buckler line dude... seriously... It'll change the way you think about tanking and hate.

As a side question, what weapon are you using that gives you an actual delay of 6.5sec with a 21 haste mod?
I haven't seen anyone answer this question for you, but it is simple. All you should have to do is hit P and it is listed somewhere in that box. It'll tell you what delay is when haste comes into account.

The only time it seems worth the the trying to time our CA's is during long fights, if you are just doing instances they are just going to die so fast it doesn't matter. The only reason you would even time your CA is because after so many times you have a delayed swing, eventually they'll add up over time and you could have had several additional swings and missed out on that DPS.

I'm not sure how to time it or where it comes from, I just see my melee hit and do it after that during fights just to play around with the timing issue.

I'm not sure how much DPS it increased for me on long fights, it seems better to just get a better CA pattern then anything to help for more DPS on short fights and long fights. But I'm just starting to instance tank again.

On another helpful tip, don't do your AP set up drunk off of a pint of Jim Beam, no matter how good of an idea it seems at the time, sleep on it.

Whats AP?....ok thanks all for inputs, know i just need to find a balance in warrior aa, i solo almost as much as i grp & have noticed i get hurt more by dropping my wis., line & grp'ing in instances i'm making my healers work to keep me up, my mit is a bit over 4thou., & thats with just my self buffs, i can still solo the lvl 82 1ups in skyfire but some are a bit to close for comfort, most the time they wouldn't get me into the orange now they do. Although it'll be about 20 days before i can respec, so got plenty of time to get more info & think it over.
